It’s been too wonky today… @dughlas here you go again…

It was okay in my side. Just once this morning but for like a minute. Weird.

I'm poaching pears to preserve in sirop. It's the only way this variety is edible, otherwise they are too hard.

Unfortunately they're not the good kind of hard, more like the kind that'd broke your teeth

Sounds great.  :D Here's a recipe for @Bucket1, perfect for the cold winter evenings.

https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/spiced-tea-poached-pears/

That looks nice.

Mine are poached in 800g of sugar and 2 tea spoons of vanilla extract for 1 lier of water. Cooked in light boiling water for 12 to 15 minutes. It's simpler so they can be used in many different recipes or on a crêpe with chocolate sauce or just straight out of the jar.

With 22 pears I did 10 jam jars.

And he's a ginger.  @dughlas likes gingers. :)

Yes, he does ...

This served as a bright spot in my day. I've been struggling with migraines the last week. Spending most of the last two days hiding in the dark. In addition I'm really missing Thistle. This is the first time in 10 years that he wasn't with me to prep the shop and walk the faire grounds before opening weekend. It's also the first I've been alone in the house in nearly 20 years.

I hope your head feels better, Dugh. And we miss Thistle, too.

Hi Clo,  This recipe sounds great!  I envy you for having pears.  The Thais have started growing many western fruits and veggies in the past 12 years, but we still don't get cherries or pears. They have to be imported.  A kilo of cherries costs about 19 euros and one pear can cost about 3 euros.

Oh god... I do know that feeling of missing my dog. It's like you've lost one of the best pieces of yourself. Glad I could provide a little brightness, bro, but I know nothing can replace the dear wee lad. :(   Sorry about your migraines... hope you find relief soon.

Hey Gary!  I have been enjoying your comments as I read Morningstar.  I am also happy you and your muse have finally found each other again. ❤️

Good Day Albert!  :kiss: I hope you and Steve are doing well.  Here's a song just for you. I thought someone should post a song for you.  Patsy is my personal favorite country western singer, even if almost all of her songs are sad.
