I read one report saying they hope that the thieves are experts and know what to do with the jewels - I don’t know how real this was but they were concerned the thieves might try to disassemble them and melt down the gold

Thief's are switching from paintings because it is easier to get rid of jewels because the metal can be melted down and the gems remounted and so resold. These guys were sloppy and they think and they pulled a heist last month.
