Hello, folks!  Yesterday I spent 7 hours building a 'cat house' for the back veranda. I made it out of insulated, double paned wooden windows that are five feet tall. I screwed three of them in a U shape, and attached them to a base with a cat-door opening in it, put on a solid top, and built three shelves inside(they can hop easily from one to the next) that have my three saddle pads put on them. Should be toasty for them. It's open at the back for easy cleaning, but slides up against the wall of the house for a tight, draft free fit. Very pleased with myself.   Oh, and the two cats love it, though when someone walks by they run out of it.  

Slightly concerned when you first said you built a "cat house" since that was slang for a brothel when I was a kid.
