Don't tell me they're on a site where the guys are all "straight" but somehow are able to perform hedonistic, immoral (to quote the top general of the Army), homosexual acts for cash (wink, wink). I loved it! BTW, Steve (shdowgod, our anonymous Beta reader) gave me some of the idea for the feather scene. I already had the feathers mentioned with something in mind, but Steve's ideas crystallized it. Thanks Steve!! Hey Ephialtes, can we trust you with the last three digits in your member number? This is a tempting theory, only flaw for me is that the technicalities of managing to shoot/ edit/ sell a porn video secretly seem to be beyond the grasp of the brat.Can Eric be this mean/ wicked/ evil? I'd be more on some cuter newsgroups pics, like twinks in bathing suits. Or something more public, like a Chase and Shawn site advocating the "gay lifestyle"; thus Thaddeus may use this as evidence of their "perverted proselytic ways". I wonder as Steve does about the link between the pics and the Data Stick. shudder at the thought that a man of the cloth and a law enforcement officer could be involved in some sex scandal. But hey, this is fiction! I think Ephilates last three digits fit right in here! Makes it more exotic, I guess. If he would live in Switzerland, he wouldnt say that ! Each Sunday, there are a lot of people shooting with guns and rifles and each village, even the smallest has, his own shooting range . I just hope that in the next chapters, the two heroes will show that they learnt how to shoot and will use their new skill on living targets .

That's why everyone who says something immediately clam up when the boys deny it. It isn't necessarily a porn site, but that's the most likely possibility. The reason I'm hesitant to say it's a porn site is that there have been too many people come up and say hello -- I would think that most people would be too worried to do that. Some would, but given the number who HAVE, I would find it exceptional if there were that many people who viewed them on a porn site AND were confident enough to approach them. Look at the ones in this chapter -- "Good choice, Shawn" -- that's not what someone would easily say to someone they MIGHT think is a porn star. The other possibility is a TV or other media campaign that is using their image. That's probably more likely, especially given the last one in the chapter, "Chase and Shawn in the flesh!" UPDATED: Eric had access to their personal details for some time. He would have been able to sell/license their images and done it in a way that would make it appear legitimate to a media outlet. Exactly how their images are being used (since they've never posed for photos) remains to be seen.... ANOTHER UPDATE: I just an idea -- Eric is clever enough to have gotten to the data stick and copied the contents. From what we know, he may not believe that he has to have the original data stick -- just the contents. Given that it's encrypted, he and whoever he is working with may believe it is safe for Chris, Steve and Mr. Williams to have a copy of the encrypted data -- they just want THEIR copy. For me, though, this story is totally about the relationship between Chris and Steve. No, it's not just the sex; although, I may have given that impression in one of my posts. They're so in love. They have each other's back, each would give his life for the other. They're playful and fun loving. They're honest with one another. I would also throw in total trust and loyalty. Thanks, CJ. For me, though, this story is totally about the relationship between Chris and Steve. I agree to a certain point. It's a kind of chicken/ egg thing: are they an attractive couple because they're put in the middle of some major adventures, or are the adventures breathtaking because they're lived by a cute couple?

That's exactly what I was trying to portray; two relatively normal guys who happen to be gay and deeply in love, and how they deal with a the few minor annoyances that life throws their way (Fundie vendetta, Homicidal Sheriff, etc). :-) As for the next pool party, wait and see. They are fun for me to write; I don't think I could write a "Relationship trouble" story other than as a short story, and so far my only attempt in FTL has been Steve's old letter (prompting Chris' visit to Piedmont). And one might argue that Eric has been amongst the annoyances, and he's 16, and thus a minor, so he would therefor be a minor annoyance. Considering what CJ could have done, this is minor.... Minor is a relative term, after all. Could have done, or might yet do.

Poor, misunderstood Eric... He was just being industrious; the waitress back in chapter six gave him and idea, and he followed through, and even offered Chris and Steve a percentage! BTW, there is something to everyone in this chapter I wanted to point out to everyone; When they are leaving the mall, Chris feels the hot vinyl of the car seat on his back. But, back in chapter 6, I mentioned that the seats of Steve's car are leather. Chapter 6 has since been changed to say vinyl. The reason for this is simple: I goofed. A good friend (THANK YOU, and feel free to step forward if you wish) pointed out to me that the 1969 Charger had Vinyl seats. Steve's is restored, but a restored car usually has seats in the original material, so it should have been vinyl back in chapter 6. I do research the various things seen in this story, but, I'd completely missed the fact that the Charger had vinyl seats.
