    Cumulonimbus

This is shaping up to be a lovely series. I wanted to smack Sam too at the end of the last story. Now I cant wait to see if they each have a back up plan! Excellent young wolf!
  2. I still cant decide if sly is dancing in joy or running around trying to decide where to start! Thank you everyone who helped to bring us all this wonderful reading.
  3. I found the story compelling. I don't always have time to read a longer entry in one sitting and sometimes forget to go back to one if I am called away. Your story would not allow that - it calls one back. Very well done!
  4. LOL that is something you will just need to get used to about Mark's writing John. The man enjoys keeping us guessing! Would you really want it any other way?

    Chapter 5

I giggled at the driver spying for Will, shivered at "the look" between Ben and Sean, and thoroughly enjoyed a happy dinner at Escorial for a change. No drama as a side dish! I have to admit, Matt's comments about threesomes made me want to smack him upside the heat though. That's the sort of thing got him into trouble in the first place! Excellent feel good chapter, even if the date with Ben didn't turn out the way most of us hoped. When things are right for Brad that will change.
  6. A lot of my generation has become obsolete in spite of trying to keep up. Sometimes going back to school is just not possible between the demands of work and family, and then suddenly you find yourself so far out of the loop you can't even find a door back in. Your acquaintance that lost her job was a prime example - things have changed and she had not kept up. In my case computers didn't become every day tools until I was well out of school. I learned on the fly to keep up with the requirements of the jobs I held but beyond that I am woefully inadequate and look to people like AJ to help me when things go wrong. Would I go back to school? Perhaps that should be broken down to two questions. Would I like to learn more? Yes certainly. Would school fit into my daily life? Up until recently no. Going forward? I don't know but am hoping it might. Oh and as to my current level - I have attended university but never finished. Life sort of demanded all my attention and I left intending to go back but it just never happened.
  7. Chalk one up for the little pet human! I don't think anyone else could possibly have gotten close enough to her to do what Shawn did, and the fact that he just happened to have a magic infused dragon dagger I am sure made the difference. Cannd said in a review: The death of Verath was so sucky b/c here you made him so down to Earth. You let him show he had fatherly feelings for Rath, which will only make it harder for Rath to grieve. I don't agree. Verath finally showed his feelings for Rath. (Has anyone else noticed that juniors name is a variant of daddy's?) That can only help the new king in the greiving process. To have had him die leaving Rath with the belief he was reviled as a "half breed" and that his father had no regard would have continued to color Raths thinking for the rest of his life. Rath still has a lot of emotions to work through over all of this, and on top of that he has the succession to the thrown. I think this story is far from over! I just hope you don't intend to end it shortly and pick up with a book two after taking a break!
  8. "What? Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over till we decide it's over. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
  9. Pleasantville?
  10. Looks like Nana knew what she was talking about!
  11. It's nice to have friends who help us technophobes!
  12. Sounds interesting. I'll have Wings see if she can pull it up for me! Everyone knows I am woefully electronically challenged!

You know my opinion on your entry! But I couldn't resist the opportunity to be the first to say "Well Done Sir!" So...Well done sir!
  14. The problem lies in defining these terms. What my grandmother called vile, what my mother called vile, and what I call vile are three different things. I have no doubt that my daughter will have yet another view.
  15. The high profile issues are not the only things I can see being addressed. I can see JP becoming concerned over the growing number of school shootings. The 90's had 34 school related shootings, more than the previous 7 decades combined. That number jumps to 49 in the 2000's and so far in the 2010's decade we have had 85, including one @ La Salle in Philidelphia two days ago. If anyone is interested in where I got this info here's the link. http://www.ask.com/wiki/List_of_school_shootings_in_the_United_States#List_of_U.S._school_attacks
  16. And us older crowd think texting is a bitch now? We would NEVER catch up to the kids! Would T-9 work on that model?
  17. I believe the theory was that on Sunday it had the least impact. Many people work Saturdays, and in the farming communities while every day is a work day, Sunday is less intense than the other six.
  18. The reduction of sugar in the daily diet is something pretty much everyone should strive for. How it is reduced however should be carefully watched. Sure you can buy diet sodas etc that have zero calories and no sugars, but they are sweetened with artificial sweeteners. We saw in the hairbo thread a few weeks back what some artificial sweeteners can do to the human digestive system. They can also cause liver and kidney damage. Like pretty much everything else in life, its a trade off. Less sugar by using artificial sweeteners, vs possible health risks from the substitutes. Healthier side dishes like quinoa instead of rice. vs the added cost - you can buy a 5 pound bag of rice for what a 4 cup bag of quinoa costs. It's one hell of a juggling act, most notably for lower income families who have parents working 10 and 12 hours a day to bring home a poverty level income. working at any job 12 hours a day is exhausting, but at a blue collar level it is even more so, then home to take care of home and family, unfortunately something has to give.
  19. I'm with Mickey. My eyes pop open about the same time every morning, and it is just a more pleasant thought when that's suddenly 6:30 instead of 5:30.
  20. I've also seen some idiotic humans in that area. There were two bear cubs in a tree right at roadside on the Clingmans Dome road. People were getting right under the tree to take pics. They were small cubs and all I could think of was "Where is momma and what will they do when she comes back?"
  21. I'm seeing Marie in a hot little convertible. What sorts of rag tops were around in the early part of the decade? Maybe she would go for a classic Camaro convertible? Will is definitely more the Jeep type. Didn't Brad have one at his age? JJ I see keeping his driver and maybe moving to a smaller vehicle more suitable to zipping around the Boston area- a nice black sedan of some sort.
  22. At least it is not more snow!
  23. Spoken like someone who has never had a catastrophic illness touch their lives. I sincerely hope that does not change. But there are situations you cannot control, such as cancer, which must be treated with drugs that sometimes seem worse than the illness they treat, and to be quite frank most if it is out of our hands! I said to one of my doctors that basically they were pumping me full of poison, and hoping the cancer dies before I do. After a moment of complete shock, she nodded her head and said "That about sums it up".
  24. Sad but sometimes necessary. A shame park visitors taught him not to fear humans.
  25. Keep reading! Not only is the edited version a bit more enjoyable, towards the end Sasha made a few changes and added a completely new chapter. And that is as close to a spoiler as you are gonna get from me!
