  1. So are you implying Russell also played the harMonica?

    Chapter 3

@BendtedWreath -- in some of the slang lists I have seen of nicknames for certain specialized male equipment, maypole is listed as an old term. It is not as common as others more recently in common use. Some terminology is almost laughable, such as "male organ of generation" and "the lizard" and "protuberance between the thighs." I've even seen or heard of such terms as "dragon" (or draggin' in the case of one exceptionally long), divining rod, or probe. @Geron Kees has been innovative in his choice of maypole in this story.

I hope you will reconsider and post more poetry. Well done, showing steadfastness in relationships.
  4. What do you mean, fee criminals?
  5. Lashing has multiple possible meanings. Lashing can mean firmly tying something to something else, or lash together. It can mean be using whips, rope, or other things to beat or whip someone of something. It can be verbal scolding or verbal severeness with someone. It can be severe weather dumping lots of wind, rain, hail, and so on at an area. Or, it can be as lot of a particular type of food, such as a slice of pie with a lot of whipped cream (a lashing of whipped cream). [Definitions from Cambridge dictionary, mostly.] So what kind of lashing(s)?
  6. Have not been out today, but yesterday was $3.59 per US gallon at a station close to me. But Wednesday another nearby station was already at $3.69 per US gallon.
  7. I use mostly chrome on my desktop, and Android Chrome on my phone,, and have had few problems that might relate to GA. But Internet was running slow for a few hours last night and this morning. My ISP may have been updating. And I know my cell provider, Verizon, has been having some issues. (Used to have different provider for cell service, but Verizon bought them.)
  8. I have seen earlier versions of this and it is always a thought-provoking read. This version is very well done and worth reading.

  9. Liked all of these, with some experiences I remember somewhat like those in the first of the three poems. Well done!

    Chapter 1

    So often true.
  12. Some really great happenings are packed into this short story. @BendtedWreath and @CassieQ have delightful side looks at past happenings as well as the drama happening between old friends. I especially like how Mariah and Gloria remembered interactions, and how it resembled some of Dahlia's actions. The whole story is well worth reading.

    Garlic or Love

I found recipes for Parmesan Dill Bread and other Dill Breads, but one recipe suggested breaking apart the Dill Bread and putting Cinnamon sugar on the pieces. I dislike Parmesan cheese, so I will NOT be doing that one. Other recipes sound better to me.

What? No "He'll Be Cumin Around the Bend"; no "You're a Nut, Meg" or "Chill, Lee Dude"? No "You Get Your Cloves -- er, Clothes On!" No, "Pappy, Rika's Pregnant?" Maybe it's "Thyme to Put Basil To Bed" or "Bay Leaves the Door Open Most of the Thyme" or "Herb Adds Curry to Dill Pickles, Dude!" "Mace Has Ginger Hair" or "Basil Ordered Pumpkin Spice Pie". But your title starting with "Parsley" has real promise. And perhaps someone should try making Cinnamon Dill Bread.

    Chapter 1

Perhaps I missed it, but I did not see the word "END" at the bottom of the chapter, or "Complete" on the story listing. So this is chapter One of how many???

    Chapter 1

I am very surprised that there had not been comments before this one. I really liked this story. Good plot, good writing, and good emotions all wrangled into one. Well done, you two, @CassieQ and @BendtedWreath! Oh, and it was quite seamless.
  17. There are rumors that it has happened, but I don't know of any verified evidence of such. Various authors have had theories as to how it would be done, from A. Bertram Chandler to Larry Niven to Isaac Asimov and probably many others. Asimov, in one of his short stories, says sex on the moon would be challenging with Earth muscles but Luna (the moon) gravity. As I recall, Niven hypothesized a net surrounding the two partners and holding them together so thrusting motions would not push them apart. It makes for fascinating speculation. True.
  18. An excellent poem set, with meaningful words which speak to almost everyone.

    No More Words

Well done, Jason! Well done indeed!
  22. @drpaladin -- I like these observant insights you give to the Word of the Day. Sometimes they are thoughtfully introspective, or tangential, or slightly irreverent, or sometimes absolutely brilliant. You and @Myr and @Bill W and @sandrewn make a great team with this project.
  23. @Bill W -- reading through these I thought of the "Fantasy Flash Collection" by @Myr, especially "Mindmaster" and "To Be King", though all of the stories are well worth reading. The grit, tones, contrasts, and the other parts of your exposition are portrayed exceptionally well in these two very short stories. @Jason Rimbaud in "Frosted Hearts" does an excellent work in the early chapters of establishing some rough parts to be worked through. There are too many other examples I could cite to list here.
  24. Congratulations, @Jeff Burton.
  25. Usually this is true. However, there are some few persons who require stronger language to get the message....
