Torture for us too.. It would be too easy to just fall into each other's arms. Of course. At least Tilly is not the deal breaker for them getting together. One less obstacle. Let's see how the do the dance from here on. Kellar us a patient man. I like what that says about his character. He's waiting for Tobyn to 'see'. In the mean time Tobyn is creating his own turmoil. I think if he really thinks and maybe seeks counsel say from Sybil or his mom he'd have half the headache he's giving himself. The road trip is coming... So I will patiently wait for him to come around. Slow burn.. Besides I'm also curious to learn about the history of the pack and then there's still the malaise that's all woven into this story.. Good chapter Gary..

Week Seventeen Thursday, December 25, 2014: Clarity
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seventeen Thursday, December 25, 2014: Clarity
I said last chapter that Tommy might be I a bubble, unaffected by the family unit. But he is affected by David, bea cause he truly sees him. He sees David trauma and knows something is wrong but can't or doesn't know what to do to help him. Because again the family is just calling it in. The may laugh and joke I'ver dinner, but everyone is just waiting for that moment to be over where they can disappear into themselves. For David we see that this is dangerous. He is spiraling and his thinking is illogical though to him it makes perfect sense. His frustration and anger at Twoey, Donny, now himself interspersed with the fear of losing his friends is more than overwhelming him at this point, and he's got no where to place those feelings. That's a horrible place to be in. I won't accept anything less than David being okay SkinnyD so tread carefully. Still a disturbing chapter but superbly done.. -
Well crap. I think David beaming Twoey at the end there is just more of him not fully accepting that he's gay. All this is hitting the guy from all angles, he's sinking and out of control and desperate. David at the best of times doesn't handle well. Blaming Twoey is natural cause Twoey to David started the ball rolling, in effect causing David to be where he is now.. Him and his green eyes.. Oops. Everything else, the family... Just bugs me out. How does 1 person not freak out. I mean they are, but it's like stealth, David is a mess, the sister is maybe preggers and running off to get married, Tommy might be in his own bubble. In context, these kids have no model to pattern anything on. Not conflict, communication or life skills. There's no real emotional attachment to any parent or adult. It's a wonder they made it this far. This was disturbing on so many levels and I'm sure it's getting worse.., I'm about to find out..

Another great chapter Graeme.. First, I'll just say now that I'm ok if Julie doesn't make head coach. It would be a nice surprise but I like Henry too. Besides I think story aside, that even over here, the women are still only assistant coaches or special teams coaches. Maybe the sport world has to evolve a bit more.. I continue to be anxious and worried in waves over the draft. Endless speculation but I want them all to do great even if that's not possible.. It's nuts. I didn't think that Doug had it truly in him to come full circle like this. You've been showing us at point this side to him, but he'd still been so abrasive. I'm really glad that he's come around and in standing up for Liam I hope he truly recognises how hurtful they were. It's nice that he thinks Neil is ok to take care of Liam and vice versa. Warwick & Ross & Kevin! Too much fun. That was all kinds of great and funny and awkward in the best way. Finding out that Ross said yes to a date with Warwick made me melt a little for him. I look forward to seeing how that goes, along with all the rest.,

CONGRATULATIONS PUPPILULL! This is so awesome! I am so very happy for you... -
Very evocative Parker.. Can't do much but agree with what's been already said... Well done..

Yeah, so I was way wrong about Donny. So not what David needs. Yes he's been helpful and patient and sweet and then whaa.. What is it in Twoey and David that makes it so easy to spot their weaknesses. Not uncommon to have booze at a party. But to almost force it on David after he said no. I'm thinking if Donny was really on the level, he'd have been ok and he'd know that he wouldn't have to use alcohol to loosen David up. David's pretty much gone along with everything he's asked. Sex is just the next step, so yep, red flag. All of a sudden I'm thinking Donny might be a bigger threat in the timeline than I imagined. I'm still not convinced Erik got properly scared away. David's reaction to his realisation that he is in love with Twoey is David. I don't expect that he'd be able to tell Twoey a thing especially as he just figured it out in his head. The boys head is exploding and he's doing what he does best. Trying to control it all. Hasn't figured out yet that he can't and communication is not his strongest suit.. Just poor Twoey though...oh well.. Waiting......

A wtf moment for sure... Annoying as he is being, it can't be that Diarmand is acting willfully on purpose. After everything we know from before, and what he went through to get Noël, why would he deliberately push him away now. I mean separating them? Wouldn't that have consequences as mates? I assuming something happened in the year that he's not talking about, perhaps he feels it's for Noël's own good and maybe it's getting away from him. That Landyn and the others don't know what's troubling him either is worrying. The souls need an alignment. I say Noël use his mind reading powers anyway since Diarmand can't seem to or won't talk..

But, but Zombies eat people don't they? They don't beg for help for their kids and make you feel sad in such a short tale. I think it was great how you did that Val. There was a show In The Flesh in which some of the undead so managed to tug at your heartstrings too. Good job..

Chapter 15 Nothing's Written In Stone
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 15 Nothing's Written In Stone
And that just got a whole lot more interesting. I hope Tilly didn't say she needed him to remember what was as stake and he needs to put the pack ahead of what he felt for Kellar. I pray she told Tobyn that it wasn't written in stone that they had to be mates/married/ or whatever, and that he should give Kellar a chance. The rest would figure itself out. Either way Tobyn would still have to readjust his thinking to get his head umm, straight.... It it amazes me that they can talk so openly about what they feel and how they're not going to do anything about it, while they suffer together.. Naive boys.. They get an A for effort though.. It was nice to get a glimpse of yet another side to Kellar as he interacted with the kids.. Mace and Dane were too cute themselves. Reminds me of another pair of your boys (teens) whom I miss... Nicely done Gary.. -
It seems for the most part, the friends will take their cue from Jackson. At least until they figure out the truth, then who knows how they will act. Ally seems a little aggressive. I think Jackson may have to explain sooner, rather than later hi friendship with Luke. Especially if he continues to act defensively. All in all a good first day..,

Week Seventeen Monday, December 22, 2014: Needy
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seventeen Monday, December 22, 2014: Needy
Tommy's father huh! Well, he deserves it. Maybe it's a learned condition within the family where there is awareness but no action. That has trickled down into the family unit. I can't even fathom the dad's decision to leave David, who the doctor suggested may be mentally unstable. And to leave him in charge of his brother when he's battling his own demons. His persistent absence from his family literally and figuratively is so frustrating for me. Donny and David, Twoey and David... I feel badly for Donny when David chooses Twoey. But, needy as he is, it's what David needs now. It sucks to be the person who makes you better for someone else.. Maybe Donny knows on some level that David will be gone soon, so he's trying to get his reward at least..? So what now SkinnyD.... Waiting for the drop.. -
Corbin, Corbin! These poor freshmen... David's been Corbed? Corbined? No? Ok... I can't help but think that at the end of their four years these freshmen will either be in awe of their Corbin experience or they will hate him. Either way you can't deny the guy's brilliant strategy er, manipulations. What does it say about me that it's my favorite thing about Corbs, especially when it get Dom put in his place. And he definitely foes not need to add another boy to the mix.. Excellent chapter.. Loved it..

I follow faithfully American college football, so when the drafts come around I'm all over it. It fascinates me to no end your ability to capture that anxiety and tension on paper. I probably should not be that excited.. If Ross doesn't make it, please make him a Leopard. Speaking of which, he and Kevin read like they've been friends for a long time. I like this. It will be hard to be mad if Julie doesn't get the job cause Henry is pretty cool too. Great chapter...

Epilogue -- Christmas Eve Eve
Defiance19 commented on Dayne Mora's story chapter in Epilogue -- Christmas Eve Eve
Excellent narrative structure made this epilogue most enjoyable, right up to where we lost Cory.. Though it sets up nicely for EPIC 2 That Cory's family is the only one not accepting of him, makes me worry for him even more. He didn't reach out to anyone, so what will he do. Did he even go back to school? Will he keep his friends at arms length. That was so cruel to leave us there Dayne... Hopefully we don't have to wait long to find out.. I heard rumblings of people with pitchforks at the ready. -
I agree.. It's simply wonderful.. Loved it Dugh..
-
That was excellent.. Very interesting and telling view from both sides. And of it is a much needed conversation.. Thank you sir..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMI... I WISH YOU EVERY HAPPINESS!!
-
There's the feeling of yay I caught up, and then oh, I caught up.. It's been really great these few days getting to know all the new characters. Ross I'm happy was able to come out to his mother and Wu. I would hope that's the last of Stuart, but I think maybe not. Kevin and Warwick have a most intriguing thing going on and I can't wait to see how that goes. Totally on edge about Ty. Will he, won't he make the draft.. Heck, Deon and Dave and dad too... Liam and Neil continue to evolve and grow and it's wonderful to see. Thank you Graeme... Now I wait...
-
Oh, oh oh! This was so good. So well done.. Twisted and eerie.. Right up my ally and I loved it. I wonder what misfortune awaits Mary Jane... You know where I'm going with this right? Great job tim...

Happy Birthday Renee... I hope you're having the most wonderful day!

That was such a good lead up to the kiss. They are soo good together. Jason slowing things down when this is all he wants, shows just how serious he is.. I hope Corey remembers that and all the other little things he's noticed, because I sense he might pull away and decide it's not worth the risk to his heart.. What's happening with his Dad cheating again, comes at a bad time. Just as he's turning the corner with Jason. I wonder too if his mother will approve of him and Jason for that reason also.. I hope mom will be okay finally. No oe deserves that. But I also hope Corey sees that Jason is not his dad, and he takes a chance letting Jason prove that a person can indeed change for the better. And what's to become of Christmas? Great chapter once again Lit..

How terribly disappointing a response, after putting that trust out there.. Poor Clint.. I had way more faith in Travis. Unless with his upbringing, this is the reaction we should expect. He might not really feel that way? Self preservation? He's allowed to do little as it is, his mother hates him, maybe he sees this as a problem he doesn't need. He's scared of what it might mean for him to have a gay friend, especially if, he could maybe be the same... I'll wait for now to see what you do.. I'm just going to throw all that out there see what sticks.. Lol.. The twins are delightful in their teasing of each other and their father.. Made me think of my own ridiculous brother, that I had to laugh.. Good stuff.. I still think Angie should know about Clint.. Salvatici is in the pizza business huh... That's great...
-
Years? Holy hell.. That's a nightmare... What made them want to still choose Doms and be Subs.. How hard was it for Toby to let them. If I recall he found the club they are at right? Nice, if sobering chapter Caz..
-
Aw shucks.. That was tough.. I'm thinking its a good thing for Daniel to tell someone else he can trust, other than his brothers and therapist. That's a huge deal mentally and emotionally to tell Carlos, not being quite sure how he'd react. But C is a good guy..
