Gabriel has protected Ray since their first encounter. He doesn’t know why. This is an interesting twist with the quick transformation that did not happen before Ray. They do seem like fated mates. Will see if the sex changes Gabriel’s feelings or awareness. -
My condolences as well on the transition of your Mother. Noah really is working with Bart, and hopefully therapy will help. He is keeping his promise of not running away.

Oh, a secret passage, sealed with arcane magic. Leading to a room under the park…and a secret group meeting in this space. They must have unleashed the magic age bomb. Hopefully more will be found in the room and maybe Dust can undo it? -
I’m thinking 100 Fae soldiers are like 1000 human ones, and there never really was a count of the others. Just skirmishes before. Seems more like a magic fight anyhow. Loved this chapter. She is all on board to save Desmond. Then maybe he can help undo the Helmsforth dark magic. Sorry to hear about your personal challenge.

The title says Book 1 so I’m going out on a limb here and thinking there will be a book 2?? I was so angry at the way this ended, thinking it was the final ending. Had to take some time out to come back and comment. -

Great ending to this section. I’m curious about why they didn’t try to go deeper into the cave, or was that really the extent of the cave? I guess I’m more used to the caves in the south, where they seem to have multiple connected caverns, many with large spaces. looking forward to seeing more of the inventory of the three bags. If one was gold coins, that would be quite valuable.

Nari hobbling around the castle looking for Ben, and found him with his father. Father joked with his son, and admonished him to heal, just as his Mother had. What adventures will they get up to after the healing? And wondering if Beynar has any ideas about Ben’s traversing worlds through the spring? -
Oh no, tickle torture. This magic place is very mysterious, and a spring step trap, thankfully is was just a cage to trap him and not an explosive.

Nice getting to know you chapter. And a slow build to a friendship, which could lead to more. yes, helping people move was something that I volunteered for when I was young, but after a move from a 3rd floor walk up to another 3rd floor walk up, I called it quits.
