I understood that the opal turbo charges Kieran's basic abilities. I just got the impression the candle flame seemed harder.

Making a visible arrow that hangs in the air that others can see is easy, but making a little candle glow is difficult. I am having a hard time understanding the optics, or perhaps Kieran is making it harder than it is??? Geston seems like a bit of trouble perhaps under the influence of the other dimension. Kieran and Rhys having all night and soon to be sharing a room...it's about time! More please!

Tonyr is on to something and it they are using Ozzie's sister 's eggs then CJ will be donating the sperm. So much is covered in snippets in their uber busy lives that I am still a little breathless. Time to read again to see what else I overlooked.

I suspect that Kieran's own little group will keep getting stronger and present an ongoing dilemma for the elves...and their king. I also have a feeling that the gay feelings end up prevailing in the long run but as our author has indicated this is a lengthy story, not without setbacks.

A broken wrist...that apparently did not require surgery and hardware to repair still sucks for six weeks! Nadine and Thiago face a decision with real consequences either way... The Springsteen theatre experience sounded wonderful! As always, thanks for sharing.

Authors, how do you reply to comments by readers?

As a reader and a writer, I think comments deserve a response, at least a short one. Some authors are really clever in their responses and some readers are too. While I have my moments, mine are usually fairly ordinary, but I hope writers and readers appreciate that I took the time to comment or respond to one.- 42 replies

Good thing Ozzie's a lawyer and not a surgeon....the way they landed sounds like a broken wrist or arm may be more than a possibility.... Other than the bad landing, I think this book got off to an epic start. Thanks for sharing.

Where Do You Fall on the Grammar-Stickler Scale?

I'm more flexible according to the test. Not quite in the 1-4 category but firmly in the middle one. I could have easily scored a 10 but as I've gotten older and since I retired, I've cultivated a more laid back approach to most things. Grammar definitely included. -
The good news is that Carson Grecco is in jail and likely to remain there....and that Penelope is cut off from communications. The bad news is that Link is clearly clueless about his candy. The other bad news is that Bella's cat needs to be confined to her room. Blu is always spotting things and I wonder if as someone mentioned, whether the family will get a new addition? The chapter may have been short, but covered a lot. Thanks for sharing!

What a terrible way to end the chapter....Poor Ben must have almost had a heart attack after that opening line from Jamie. Jamie better make sure he explains himself thoroughly and as well as coming clean and telling Ben he absolutely loves him. Oh, well, on to the next chapter! -
The Guardian has a great article on an event that changed the world. It changed our perspective on how we viewed ourselves. It's from 50 years ago this past Christmas and for those of us who can actually remember it's initial impact it was special. It really made real that our planet is a finite resource, quite small and precious in the vastness of space....
