  1. Just a note of explanation to anyone not on site prior to January 2011: This flashback is from 2007. The reason each of the stories show they were posted on January 8, 2011 is because that was about when the site underwent a big software update and everything had to be restored into the new format.
  2. I can unequivocally state that Circumnavigation does not take perseverance, but it does take a chunk of time. Once you get started and into it, you will find yourself making time for it whenever you can. It is a magnum opus that this site is lucky to have and is treasured.
  3. A lot depends on the storyteller's ability to keep it real, literally. Much of fantasy is so disorganized and dare I say 'sloppy'? A good story told well will always keep me going and there are lots of stories that I love including the Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. Roger Zelazny's Amber series is another and that has some surprisingly unexpected twists and turns that are a bit beyond belief but the tales are so well told that you get drawn into them. I'm retired and have lots of books on my kindle that I haven't read as I buy them almost daily. So my point is, that a story has to draw me in and have decent writing to keep and hold my attention, whether it be fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, action adventure or even a gay romance in any genre. Otherwise, I will put it down and may or may not come back to it. I'm old, I'm picky, so there!

    Chapter 39

In a politically polarized environment such as exists today, I'm not surprised that two people starting a personal relationship discuss in depth their political thoughts and feelings. Whether I agree with them is not important, it's whether they find common ground and common beliefs that are important to their characters and development. So I recommend anyone who is less than sympathetic to the beliefs of the characters to skim those parts as some have noted. However, if you take the time to read them, you might begin to understand where they are coming from and that they are entitled to their opinions as they have thought about it and aren't just spouting one party line or the other.

    Chapter 39

Good to get another chapter and I have to say, the ball drop left an imprint on more than the glass.
  6. I've read just about everything I could find by Jack Scribe and the Vegas Trilogy is among his best and will leave you wanting more. I heartily recommend everyone read this series!
  7. I can't believe no one included Nilsson Without You
  8. So many author's names from the past....has it really been 9 years ago?

    Chapter 10

Another Valentine! Thanks! Now I want more...

    Chapter 56

Sabrina is from Bertie's branch and why do I expect she's even worse than imagined? Will stood up to Nana and did so without causing a melt down. I still don't trust Wade's scheming mother and it appears she knows something she has not shared. Somehow "Danger, danger Will Robinson" is echoing in my head. P.S. Thanks for the Valentine's present.
  11. Loved the chapter, especially loved the ending. My only quibble was the line about sucking the air out of the city...it was most of the country!
  12. I've always believed writers should write about what they know and everyone should know their hometown. Having said that, if you write about another locale, please do your research as someone will always be willing to take offense that you got it wrong. I've seen lot's of writers use a fictional locale because they don't want to identify places that someone might want to check out....and be disappointed. If you take artistic liberties with locales, it might be best to add a chapter note alerting everyone.
  13. For anyone visiting south Florida during the next two months, consider visiting Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, : https://www.springtrainingonline.com/teams/st-louis-cardinals.htm
  14. Yup! I have Google Earth Pro on my desktop and it does have street view as I just checked out the Sydney Opera house and the Bridge as well.
  15. Business in addition to law...ambitious and smart and another extra year. Now I need to go and google again all the Aussie sites mentioned. I wonder if google street view works down under?

    Chapter 55

If Zach isn't toast yet, he should be. Patrick is just a diversion for Will. Darius' take on Beladona was interesting. The get together in Virginia has the potential to be dramatic and hopefully revealing for us poor readers lost in the thicket of competing theories and speculation.

    Chapter 14

Poor Jake. After that marathon, a week will seem like a month.

    Chapter 12

    The collateral is certainly captivating.
  19. More shut eye!
  20. ... The vignettes are spare and well written...I like this tight format, but my preference is for a bit more background and detail.

    Gabe Darby

I hope the author gets motivated to continue...it was getting really interesting.
  22. Saw this story listed on RickP's page and decided to take a look ...and liked it. On to the next chapter.

    Chapter 54

Will does think well on his feet, even when emotions are a tilt-a-whirl. The revelations about Lord Preston were ominous and JP's reservations about not warning him seem unwarranted....which leads me to wonder what Mr. Arbour has planned. More please!
  24. While I do view the site on my tablet, I still select the desktop site on my 8 inch tablet. Oh, by the way, I did view the video above on youtube and subscribed...

    Chapter 1

Based on the first paragraph, I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak...
