I sketched out the following moody Tanka several days ago. It sat on my desk, overwhelmed with thoughts of how to change it: alternate lines; different wordings; scrapping the whole damn thing. So this morning, I not only typed it -- keeping most of the poem as first scrawled -- but, as I completed it, suddenly felt an urge to translate it into Japanese. An interesting impulse, for the translation "finds the balance" missing in the original, and winds up beautifully optimistic. So, here they are, original and Japanese version. -------------------------------------------- Tanka: Proud moon from behind The now too-cloying cloud rolls, Once you gave me hope That I’d find a place to shine, When young, many moons ago. 短歌: そら そら を、 月の風見るば、 うれしい で 明日言葉は 輝く出るば。 Tanka: Sora sora wo, Tsuki no kaze miruba, Ureshii de Ashita kotoba wa Kagayaku dereba. https://translate.google.com/?sl=ja&tl=en&text=%E3%81%9D%E3%82%89%20%E3%81%9D%E3%82%89%20%E3%82%92%E3%80%81%E6%9C%88%E3%81%AE%E9%A2%A8%E8%A6%8B%E3%82%8B%E3%81%B0%E3%80%81%E3%81%86%E3%82%8C%E3%81%97%E3%81%84%20%E3%81%A7%20%E6%98%8E%E6%97%A5%E8%A8%80%E8%91%89%E3%81%AF%E8%BC%9D%E3%81%8F%E5%87%BA%E3%82%8B%E3%81%B0%E3%80%82&op=translate

The nurses know about Liam and Ed. Pearl calls them "Jonathan and David". Aiden has had, a rather embarrassing, talk with Liam about sex. If they were breaking important rules then Janet, the Ward Manager, would put a stop to it and she hasn't. His relationship with Ed is so important to him and the nurses can see that. They have discussed it in their weekly Ward Round.

Liam had a great visit with. I'm worried that Ed and Liam have broken the rules by kissing.

Liam and Ed are two damaged souls but their love for each other is a positive thing. Liam killed another boy because he made the wrong decision, but he had no one in his life to advise him and care for him. The saddest thing is that he has only found those important relationships because he killed another boy. He'd have never met Ed if they both hadn't been sent to this hospital. Mark, who has a very parental relationship with him, is his former solicitor from his murder trial. Aiden, who is caring for his mental health, is a paid professional whom Liam would never have met if he hadn't been sentenced to Nurton Cross. Liam is growing and maturing, but the irony of how he was able to... Well, is uncomfortable.
-
I studied math under a guy who later got famous (or infamous) for having sex with students. I didn't even know it was an option. Never have I ever f-ed for a grade.
-
Ed and Liam are something beautiful. They care about one another, and appear to be pillars of strength for each other. At the same time, Liam has both Mark and Aiden confirming the truth that Liam has come to know. Growth and insight may follow swiftly.

Liam dumped the laundry basket down on his bed. He’d have to empty it and his jeans were only just covering his underpants but Ed would see his underpants. He could just grab all his clothes and shove them into his wardrobe though Ed would think he was crazy. Ed dropped down onto Liam’s bed, next to the laundry basket. “Hurry up and we can go and watch TV,” Ed said. “Is there anything on?” “I don’t know. If its shit, you can read your book.” “Okay.” He’d have to be

Hey, all! A mild 9C here.

Other then Elisabetta being p---ed off what would be the repercussions of Giorgio outing Cosmo? This is Ravello after all . There must be more to it. Sadly I can see this contributing to Cosmo's downward spiral to where we are told this story is going. I see absolutely nothing redeeming about Elisabetta and Giorgio I know Cosmo finds Ravello boring but what kind of option is this?

That Liam was not sent into an episode of acute anxiety after seeing his mother on television speaks well of the therapy he’s had and the progress he has made. It also says something good about the relationship he’s built with Ed. With whom will Liam feel safe to talk with about this? I’ll be interested to find out.

Thank you. I've thought about and worked out a lot about Liam and Ed's relationship. I want to show them navigating their way around their relationship, they are only 15 and 14. They are both very damaged souls, look what Ed did to survive at school, but they also care about each other.

April 21, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Will The big Escalade limo drove up the stately drive and stopped at the porte cochère to deposit its passengers. I got out and smiled, happy to be home, while Travis followed me, pausing to stare at this massive house. “This place is like the Buck Mansion,” he said. My first reaction was to point out that Escorial was way nicer than the Buck Mansion, but I managed to stop myself from doing that and thus sparking an argument over

Mark stood up from the table he was sat at and waved across the room at Liam. Mark was wearing the green shirt he’d so often worn before, though he seemed to have had his hair cut since Liam last saw him. His curly hair wasn’t as thick as last time he was there - it lay over his head only one curl deep. Liam walked between the tables in the Visitors Room, heading towards Mark. The place was surprisingly full - more than half the tables were occupied. Usually, only a handful of them were occ

A classic cartoon that was my first introduction to opera. Opera wasn't playe4d in our house and my grandfather said 'If I was to hear that kind of caterwauling I'll step on a cat's tail." He even left the room when Ed Sullivan had an opera singer on his show. As you can tell, he wasn't a veryh openminded person.

This unofficial holiday is celebrated annually on May 6 and is also sometimes called National Beverage Day. While the origins of Beverage Day are unknown, we can all safely assume that the day encourages people to honor their beverages of choice and acknowledge that a humble beverage has the power to make or break many situations. A good beverage can energize you after a long, tiring day. It can also make a long, boring meal go fast, it can bring together two strangers, and it can make a party more fun. Whether your preferred beverage is a hot cup of tea, a delicious and healthy smoothie, or a tall glass of lemonade, Beverage Day is the perfect excuse to indulge yourself by drinking it all day long. Sit back, relax and celebrate the day with your favorite beverage. It could be anything from something as simple as water to a fancy cocktail. Try new beverages. What about tasting the national drink of a country you have never visited? Have a tasting party at home. Pick up a beverage you and your guests like and make or find different versions of it to taste and try. For example, you could do a beer or wine tasting party or a tea or coffee tasting party. Have each of your guests bring their favorite brand of beverage to share and serve foods that pair with the beverage of your choice. Who knows, you may just find your next favorite beverage at one of these parties! Did You Know… …that in common usage, water isn't usually considered to be a beverage? *** I was leading a tour through Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico when a woman asked, "How many miles of undiscovered passageways are there in this cave?" *** A customer called our rental store to ask about rectangular tables. I told him we had six-foot and eight-foot tables. His response: "What's the difference?" *** The night we took our three young sons to an upscale restaurant for the first time, my husband ordered a bottle of wine. The server brought it over, began the ritual uncorking, and poured a small amount for me to taste. My six-year-old piped up, "Mom usually drinks a lot more than that." *** A little boy was brought into our emergency room after ingesting part of a plug-in air freshener. After consulting Poison Control and monitoring him, the doctor wrote on his discharge, "Patient doing well. Ready to go home. Smells good." *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ( What's the difference between graffiti and historical signatures?) Ed and Liam are developing a good connection, a friendship. But I fear for them, as they have both been hurt badly in the past.

Poor Ian. It’s hard to have so many expectations at just five years of age. He may have the smarts, but he doesn’t have the maturity yet, as witnessed b6 his meltdown about learning the technicalities of the language of music. I don’t quite get the determination to make Gaea like Earth II. Things had gone so wrong there, I would think they would want a completely fresh start. Name your cities and locations after places on Earth I. That’s fine. But make a break and make a new society with more care for each other and the world on which you are now living!
