The title of this tribute is simply the Jewish word for remembrance. These tributes are or can be given throughout the first year of passing, in honor of the deceased. I thought a fitting way to honor Carlos. I'm honored to share my reflections as part of this community whom Carlos was so proud to be a part of.

Three poems I wrote as an exploration in writing. Content and form of each is different, but there is a tenuous connection to the anthology theme.

Our observations are made from many different perspectives. Sometime we are looking forward, sometimes we are looking back, and sometimes we are standing still. Life can be filled with many loves, and loss can take many forms. So can loyalty.

A sad visit to a new grave; an unknown mourner. What does it mean?

Being gay has always had its pitfalls, but nothing could have prepared us for the devastation of the last two decades of the twentieth century. Michael is very sick, but there is one more thing he feels the need to do as he lays in bed waging the biggest fight of his life. As an activist, he still wants to be of some use, no matter how little. It's not his nature to give up until he has to. This is a story about PRIDE, and what it represents to our community. Pride month means many things to many people. For some it is a parade and a chance to celebrate, but for others, it holds different connotations.

This is a story of life, dreams, and timing. Anthony's life has come full circle as he retreats to his small home town on a northern Ontario river. With shattered dreams behind him, he has no choice but to choose a path forward. Fortunately, his mom and dad, and even his dead grandmother, have his back.
