My first novel, previously published in Dutch but now translated.

It is the story of three gay travellers in Scotland, immediately after the Great War.

It is about double discrimination, about flowering and gradually subsiding love, of exploitation of tenants by the local gentry and of over-zealous clerics, but also about the development into adulthood against the background of a slowly changing society.

Phil Weber, a Iowa college math teacher in his mid-twenties, heads off to Mexico for the summer, to try and forget his ex-lover. He's looking for an adventure, and he finds a couple he hadn't expected.

Between arrogant classmates, an obnoxious roommate, and horribly bland food, Jae Park is finding Harvard isn't all it's cracked up to be. Luckily for him an odd YouTube video provides a welcome change.

Frankie approaches life head on with a logical brain and healthy contempt for everyone not as smart as him, so his life isn't straightforward. After coping with a family death, abduction, theatrical success, evil property developers, gender-equality fanatics, con-men and women… a trip to a Himalayan monastery goes very, very wrong. Worse, the young men he meets are not what they seem. But Frankie enjoys his life and never complains - a true hero, strong, honest, decent, clear-thinking and not too bad looking, so surely one of the young men he befriends will turn out to be his equal?

Between them, they find themselves combating the appalling Frank Hutchinson, landlord of the King's Cross, and unearth a mystery of the ages, to solve which is death.

In the middle are the divided Rothenian lands, its two rival realms in uneasy peace. Through all this human conflict young Sergius von Tarlenheim seeks to make a career at the Ruritanian court, where he finds unexpected friends and mysterious enemies. But unknown to him greater conflicts by far are beginning in the World Beyond, where notice is being taken of the changing nature of humankind and rival factions are forming in response.

Now, years later, they meet again in a new city when Evin hurts himself. Ben is an emergency room resident when he'd always planned to be a hot shot plastic surgeon. Evin has a son, and his entire demeanor is different. Can they bridge the gap years placed between them or was their first parting destined to be repeated?

The oldest of two boys, of a single mother, Wesley helps his mum to bring up his baby brother, as well as attending school and having a part time job.

Life changes suddenly, with the death of the store owner, Wesley's boss, who he regarded as his adopted grandfather.

Falling into a deep depression, from the loss of his boss, and the risk of medical intervention by his mother, Wesley flees from home, where by chance he finds a new home, eventually a new job and friends.

A quiet, solitude life without stress, commitment or responsibility is all Ed wants. But when his new neighbors move in next door, it all seems to have come to an end. Alex, a teenage brat, has made it his life goal to befriend Ed no matter the cost. Is friendship all that the odd, wired kid wants...or does he have other feelings towards the giant, grumpy bear?
