Potluck Theme: National Forest

Jace is a good kid, guy next door, dutiful to his mother, respected by everyone he meets. This short story was posted under the old eFiction and never transferred over. There it was titled 'Merchant's Gold', but I never really liked the title. So with a few tweaks, I am reposting it now. It was/is the very basic idea for a much long story I hope to one day post.

Separated by culture and language but linked together by the beginnings of an unbreakable bond, the two lost souls travel to the cursed town of Timberford. There Crowe will meet his first test? With the help of Barghast can Crowe save the trapped villagers or will they perish?

A very simple plotting method that works for me.
