This is poetry written during my recent depressive cycle. I'm learning to accept depression as part of myself rather than as something separate from me.

For those who may not know, 'black dog' is a metaphor for depression or melancholy.

Jason figured that college was a time to experiment. To explore a part of himself he was always ashamed of before. To be free, have fun, and enjoy himself. No-one was supposed to get involved. No-one was supposed to get hurt.
