Aditus' prompts and circumstances - 28. Poetry Prompt 17 – Childhood Verse: The Pool/Wild Dreams
The Pool
The water surface glitters in the sun,
beckons us over to come and have fun.
Little leaf boats only need a push
Clothes fly behind the elder bush.
Naked in a mad dash
Jumping in a big splash
Frozen we shiver
And blue lips quiver
Then strong arms grab us
Mom’s making a fuss
And the bathtub becomes soon
A spaceship to the moon.
Wild Dreams
I know you well
Many stories to tell
And so much yet to see
No time to sleep.
What will happen at night
when I’ve dimmed the light?
What will the adults do?
No time to sleep.
But in the end
I take your hand
And tell you that dreams
only come when you sleep.
