Timmy's Journal - 35. Black Bear's Picnic

WARNING: Silly Poem Ahead. Read at your own risk.

Things have not been going well for me. Got fed up with everything yesterday and wrote a silly poem trying to get myself out of the funk I was getting into.

Black Bear's Picnic

Two black bears in town for lunch,
sat watching as they munched.

The townsfolk their invite, did eschew
“That’s not polite,” said Mary to Lou.

The bears ate doughnuts in the square,
while worried residents did declare;

Bears shouldn’t eat doughnuts in town it’s true,
what’s gonna happen to me and you?

An idea started by one bright man,
“Go on home as quick as you can.

Pack up the food from your larder,
they’ll be so full, walking will be harder.”

As more food was left for the bears,
Mary said, “What’s with all this food of theirs?”

Lou grinned and selected a nice ripe pear,
as usual he just didn’t care.

Two black bears full as you please,
waddled off home with full tummies.

Hope that gave you a smile.

It did make me smile!

Was I the only one who got excited when I read it was a poem about two bears having lunch? I guess my mind automatically thought of a couple of hairy, beefy studs instead of the Jellystone Park dwellers.

Oh geez! Lmao, you made my day with this comment! I'll write one just for you, C! Thanks for reading!

Hey tim
Is it bad that I giggled as soon as I read the "warning"? You know, warnings are supposed to be taken seriously, after all...
I really enjoyed this poem you cobbled together to lighten your mood. I hope it helped your funk take a slow boat to China and leave you some peace. I loved how the townsfolk handled the bears - very clever bunch they are. :D
As always, nicely done tim.
