Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 27 to Apr. 2nd)

Wildone figured out a way to make the Weekly Wrap Up new this week, he went on a trip... so I'm doing it! Do you think he had that plan already in the works last week?🤨 Well, I'll have you know I spent my first Saturday of Spring Break on a day trip, and for once the coast was B-E-A-uuuutiful! Take a peek in the spoiler below if you want to see. But I'm back to bring you all the news you might have missed, salt-soaked skin and all. Wave to the crusty crab we found peeking out in the tide pools!

Like in Independence Day....Hello Boys! I'm baaaaaaaack Well, also you gurls, actually everyone! Thank you Renee for taking my place last week So I'm dried out from last weekend, which is a good thing! Last weekend I was at a football game, outdoors and it was hovering around 0C or 32F. Quite pleasant football weather (oh, North American Football I should say). Now this weekend, -30C or -22F, and I'm not enjoying this weather 😠 I'm thinking of all of you in Florida, or Australia or e

WAKE UP!!! YOU ARE LATE!!! Okay, that is kind of a North American comment but bear 🐻 with me  (I know I spelled that wrong  ) And if you are a bear, no hate mail please   So before I started this blog I went back and read over all the great suggestions that you all came up with last week  . I'm going to toss 3 ideas all into this blog and then see how they go, and tell me what you think. First would be, what is your favourite story that you read this week as suggested by @ast

Before we even get started with the wrap up, I want to say:   Graeme!!!!!!   Graeme has been a long time member of GA's staff, and has been promoted to Site Administrator as well as Author Promotion Team Leader. We are very happy to have him as part of our team, so please visit the announcement thread to congratulate Graeme on his well deserved promotion!   Now, for some other news. I don't usually use the staff blogs for personal stuff, but the time has come f

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Just a reminder that tomorrow is the CSR Discussion day of The Rainy Day by Graeme. Now, with that reminder, let's see what happened in the GA News Blog this last week.   For our featured story, Timothy M provided us with a review of Prophylaxis.   Wednesday, Cia took over the blog to discuss something that had once again struck the site: Plagiarism. Cia gives some great tips on how to search for your story to make sure it's not posted anywhere that

The one good thing about taking forced holidays is you get a lot of crap done that you should have done way in the past  Let's see, I finally got my painting done that I started in November. Bought new appliances that I wanted to do before Christmas and got some new furniture too! So I will host the next GA Friday night party, and you all are invited . You can all crash on my new couch   Now what to do in the week ahead ? Any recommendations? I am working my way slowly through the Poetry An

Whoa, Nelly. I'm wiped out   I may or may not have been, what the hell there is cameras in every place now adays, at a bar celebrating the little leprechauns among us. Yes, I'm talking about our Irish friends. But then again, the rugby playing guy I met last night was not little nor would I call him a leprechaun   Then tonight it was my lil' sisters 50th bday. She is the last of us to hit 50, so the only thing we kids have to look forward to now is reaching 65 so we can get our Seniors

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 7 - Jul. -13)

So I was down at the Stampede tonight to about 12:30 am  and I met this nice couple from Australia. I asked if they knew @Graeme, but surprisingly they did not   They decided to come over here for their winter and our summer  When I asked them where they were from, they said Wagga Wagga, NSW . I thought to myself, self, why does Australia have such funny names? Then I thought it my be Aboriginal names, and who am it to judge? Here in the Great White North, we have Moosejaw, and here's a tongue t

Well - I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccckkK!     I want to thank everyone for their well wishes while I was in the hospital. I'm home now, and loving that part, but still isolated to the bedroom because of immuno-suppression. Right now, physically I feel great, but as my sister's cells finish grafting and producing new blood cells, especially white ones, I have to keep isolated and constantly washing hands, being careful, etc. But on the good side, I have my laptop, and can f

Personal Announcement: For those of you who have been following my health status, here is the short story version - I may be more absent from GA depending on my upcoming treatments. The best part of that though is a recent test confirms that I am IN REMISSION (ie, no current trace of Mantle Cell Lymphoma - so the chemo worked). My sister comes in later tonight for two weeks, the first week will be tests to confirm she's healthy enough to be a donor, then the second week to stimulate production o

This is my last chance to play with the GayAuthors News Blog before Renee comes back and takes over again - so, let's make it good. We were saddened to start our week learning of the passing of GhostRyder15, one of GayAuthors' original Hosted Authors. In honor of his memory, we took a look at a recent story review that had been done of his Kombat Kids story.   Wednesday, we had the humorously titled, but VERY informative Cia's Torturing Me! Nothing to complain about age this week  I wanted to discuss something, but this blog would be then directed to the Pit   Let's talk about unicorns 🦄   I'm a big Tolkien fan and I have no difficulty after reading the stories and believing that all the species that are in Middle Earth, might have at one time been actually on earth. It might be spring where you are, except our friends in the Southern Hemisphere It was a beautiful day today and will be tomorrow. Okay, let me put my grinch hat on   Has anyone got sick of the shall we call them 'Lifetime' Christmas movies?  I mean, they are all basically the same story, just different actors and slightly different stories. But there is always a woman, who has a male adversary at the beginning. The scheming and cajoling and finally they admit they are in love with each other and everything survives what was in peril at the start of the movie.  The bakery, the Christmas tree farm, shall I go on? Okay,

We started our week looking at a delightful story by Hosted Author Libby Drew.
