Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 10 - Jul.16)

Middle of July, so what should we talk about? What the heck, why not weather! I'm curious how things are shaping up in your neck of the woods as far as the weather goes. In my hometown, it is Stampede  week, and mother nature has so far cooperated. I don't think in the past 8 days we have had any rain. Temps have been around 30 C (86 F). This is too hot in my humble opinion. I know some areas of the world are having record breaking temps like Europe and elsewhere, so my heart goes out to th

I think we have a topic of what are you listening too, what are you reading off site, but do we have one of what are you watching? Well let me know here   Personally this weekend I watched a series, 2 seasons, called Ragnarok. It is dubbed into English from Danish as I like to watch and listen to a show, not read it. That is what books are for, right?  It is an interesting take on Norse Mythology put into modern day settings. So if you sez to yourself, great another super hero movie about T

Howdy, I hope you are all enjoying the weekend I know I am, and I know Renee is as she is off camping!   Monday brought us our Monthly CSR feature from Cia. For July it will be featuring the story The Window Washer by Zenith. I might have to look at this one as the short description has piqued my interest.   Being the first Wednesday of the month we got another look into the minds of some or your favourite authors with Dark's monthly Ask an Author spot! This month Dark grilled popular autho

Well Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends Although I'm sure many people are wondering what Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas will look like this year, I'm sure we will all return to what is most important to us and celebrate that! You tell me what that is to you.   So I do really want to take a moment out on this weeks wrap up to give a shout out to Carlos and all he does for the Ask An Author 2.0. He has a new one every month for Renee or me to share with everyone here. The

Hope everyone has had a great weekend so far. It's almost time to start a new week, but before we do that, we get to look back at what happened this past week. Also, don't forget that we're currently taking theme suggestions for the 2016 Quarterly Anthologies. If you have an idea that you think would make a great theme, don't forget to share it in the Anthology Forum topic. Please make sure to read the theme guidelines in the first post.   On Monday, Cia announced this month's CSR feature. Hav

I"m curious, how you are doing on your New Years resolutions? I promised to not be mean to Val this year, and I haven't  No matter what she says!  If you want, share if you made any resolutions. The past two years I resolved to be more of a drama queen and failed miserably both years 😢 Hey, maybe you have a resolution for me   Can you believe we are in 2023 already? I'm pretty sure it won't be long before we talk about it nearly being 2024! Not sure if time flies faster the younger, or the

Well, it has come The semi official end of Summer in my little area of the world. Today we had rain, we had hail, an hour west of me they had the S word flying though the air . Hoping everyone else is having less seasonal weather than me! I do realize that the southern hemisphere is ramping up for Summer, and other places don't really have a winter, but seasons are a changing!   Your next weather forecast live at 11 PM!   Let's get down to business and look at what the GA

Sorry for the late Weekly Wrap Up, kind of fell asleep last night without doing it. A huge thank you to @wildone for taking over the Weekly Wrap Up while I was away. Lots of stuff to go over this week, so let's get started!!!  First off, it's time to announce the anthology themes for 2018! It was a busy week this week. Don't forget that your anthology stories need to be to the Anthology Proof Team no later than March 5th! Now, lets get onto the look back at the week in the blog!   On Wednesday, Myr popped into the blog to share another Tech Blog, which has now become a monthly blog feature and will appear on the last Wednesday of every month. This months edition had a few different offerings. He shared some stats, talked about some ongoing projects, and also talked about some st

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept.29 - Oct.5)

Sorry folks, no weekly update this week. Carry on with your daily activities and God Save the Queen. Okay, so I was saying to a ex GA'er friend that I had nothing to write about to start the Weekly Wrap Up and he suggested that I couldn't do that to you all So here is a look at what happened over the past week! Monday, it was CSR discussion day where Cia chatted with @northie Then on Wednesday, it was the first one of the month and the blog was turned over to Carlos:

Wildone is on wild camping vacay, so I'm bringing you the Weekly Wrap up.  We shall all have to hope that he doesn't get eaten by a wild bear (*coughs*) so he can come back next week to resume his usual posting. In the meantime, onward for a refresh on last week's goings on from yours truly.  Monday I featured a short story by our very own long-term Signature member and admin, Graeme: Tuesday we started voting on the Secret Author Story Contest. So, what is new in your neck of the woods? I'm sure that you all have some stories, some frustrations, some concerns, some fears and and lots of other things on your mind. With the pandemic in full swing in basically the whole world now, it has to be affecting everyone in at least a small way. My heart goes out to those that can't work, or are laid off, and don't have some kind of social safety net to lessen the blow somewhat. Lets hope that this blog finds you all safe and sound and taking

I'm shocked  I'm surprised  I'm flabbergasted  And you all should be too! When I found this out yesterday I was left with my mouth agape . Just when you thought you knew a guy, you find out how little you know! And then, to top it all off, he chooses to use deceit and misguidance to throw everyone further off the track. It has been pointed out that he didn't lie, but to me he might have just well have . I'm not willing to turn my back on him and I think no one else should either .   Au

I read a joke in Chapter 5 of Dabegal's new story House of Frost the other day from @weinerdog: Q: What do gay horses eat? Okay, if you have stopped your uncontrollable laughter or maybe your uncontrollable groans, I want to mention that I think that falls in what people now refer to as 'Dad Jokes'. So here is the question for this week and what better time to do it than on Father's Day 2022, what is your best Dad Joke? Or maybe your worst ? Add them to the comments below and we will

What to discuss this week.... hmm, a friend and his family are in  Hawaii and they saw a one legged bird, so they decided to call it Steve 😮   But this is the same friend, to his wife's anger, gives me one sock every year at Christmas.     Shall we move on and into the Weekly Update?   Monday, we had another Featured Story, this one done up by Cole Matthews:   Tuesday was round 2 of what seems to be becoming a popular new blog by Renee.

Well this is my first blog of the new year 🥳 I seriously hope that no one is still recovering from Sunday night and Monday morning   I will keep my question simple. Did you bother with a New Year's Resolution, what was it, and 7 days in are you achieving it?  Now lets jump into the past week. It was a full one! Monday was a day that many of you were looking forward to. Valkyrie published the stories of 11 dedicated fans of Carlos Hazday in memoriam. Check them out if you have ever

Weekly Wrap Up (May 2nd-May 8th)

Surprise! No, we didn't go back in time, and it's not an April Fool's week joke. But I am bringing you this week's Wrap Up, so buckle your seat belts... it may be a bumpy ride! It's been a while since I did a Wrap Up, so I hope I don't forget anything.  What's the bumpiest ride or scariest ride you've ever been on? For me, it was an old wooden rollercoaster. I thought my brains would rattle out! 🥴Oh, and FYI it's the final few weeks before the anthology submission. 🕚 Get that writing done
