    Steve has climbed into his cave and don't wake him up until the end of April.  I think it it is @Slytherin's turn to stay awake this winter   That bear just happens to be the colour of outdoors.  We got dumped on the past week. No road lanes, no sidewalks, no nothing. All buried in snow. It is beautiful if you don't need to go out into it  Also, the temperature dropped into the minus celsius without windchill  Winter is here, I hereby declare. May you all share the wonder of it

Apology and Explination of recent events.

Hello Everyone,   As I mentioned in my last post I have been on a hiatus due to family issues and work issues. It saddens me to say that I am going to have to extend it.   In addition to working full time I am also a care giver to elderly grandmother. Unfortunatly her health has taken a further down turn and much of my free time hs devoted to her assisting my mother,( who is her primary caregiver), in taking care of her. I won't go into too many details but she will be having major surgery

Pope Francis is Right

Pope Francis was right to name the atrocities committed by the Turks against the Armenians what they are, genocide. The Turkish ambassador to the Vatican flapped his wings and flew away in protest. Sometimes I Like To Wander Around Like a Stranger

More than Mechanics!

How much time on a weekly basis, or even monthly, do you spend--not just your actual writing---but on the mechanics of writing? Just browsing a writing website or style guide can be fun if you're a geek like me, and I often reference them when I have a rule I'm not sure of when I'm editing. But the rules of writing aren't the only things to think about; there are all sorts of ways to refine your writing that have nothing to do with proper nouns or proper use of possessive punctuation/formats!

Lately, I've thought a lot about meal times, not because of the food, but about who is sitting at the table with me for the meal. Most times when I write characters, I find it lonely to write them eating food alone at the dining table. Just felt I haven't said much in a while. Time for a bit of an update.   I have been dealing with dad. He isn't fully recovered and I guess this is my new reality with him. Life isn't exactly as it was, but at least it isn't as bad as it could be. He is about 90% back to normal. Balance is slightly off and he has mood swings. Part of what he is like now.   My own health is all over the place. The doctor wants me to go for some tests. Not sure for what now but always not a good sign.   I'm

A Better Way

I had a conversation recently where someone was frustrated about that pizza place in Indiana who got all those donations. Now there is a few different ways to look at this and mine was - how could people, presumably religious folks who supported the religious views of the shop owners (as opposed to just bigots) support this when there were so many other positive places that money could be used for?
