methodwriter85 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Mark hasn't described John's girlfriend yet, but I'm kind of picturing her like this... It'd be interesting to see how the ultra-Wasp Hobarts would react if one of their kids/grandkids dated someone African-American/not-white. Namely, the grandmother- she was pissed at the idea of John having a boyfriend, but would she be better with John having a black girlfriend?

methodwriter85 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) Are you saying that Amber Stevens doesn't look like a sweet girl next-door that'd be appropriate date material for John because she's black? Because only white blond girls can be sweet girlfriends to WASP lacrosse players? Is that what the "hell no" is about? Why couldn't John have a girlfriend that wasn't his own race? It's early 2000's California, not 1950's Mississippi. Hell, John would have grown up watching an interracial relationship on Boy Meets World- it's much less of a taboo at this point in history. That's why it might have been interesting to see how John's grandmother would react- you could say in 2000(and somewhat now) that you disapproved of your grandson dating someone of his own sex. But by 2000, it wasn't politically correct to say that you didn't want your grandkid dating a girl outside of his race. What would her reaction be if her grandson had a girlfriend who was pretty, sweet, from an affluent family- but just happened to be black? Would her reaction be different than the one she had about John having a boyfriend? You know how many white blond girls we've had in this story already? Why not add some diversity? We started with Ryan's girl, why not add some more? I mean, if there's a part where Mark already described the girlfriend as being a particular race, I get it- but if not...why not? methodwriter85 Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 After seeing Michael Fassbender on the cover of GQ, I thought, "I can see him as Sean as well." http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/michael-fassbender-gq-cover.jpg Hot, but in a non-pretty way.
methodwriter85 Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) I saw Logan Lerman in the Perks of Being A Wallflower trailer, and thought, "Alisdair." Just give him some glasses and a formal way of speaking and dressing. Physically, he's perfect. Edited June 12, 2012 by methodwriter85
methodwriter85 Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Maggie Grace from Taken and Lost as Mary Ellen? I know Mark described her as having brown hair, but he also said that she usually dyes it blonde. And I do not think Maggie Grace is a natural blond. She kind of fits my image as a WASPy, icey cold bitch.

B1ue Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 And she went out in public like that? I'm having trouble looking at her eyes.
methodwriter85 Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 You haven't seen her as Liam Neeson's "17"-year old daughter in Taken? She had brown hair for that, but her hair is usually colored blond. That's why I thought of her. Plus, if you've seen Lost, Maggie Grace can very well look the part of the rich self-centered bitch.
Canuk Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I think John would have a girlfriend that could afford more clothes - she seems to have had to stretch a pillow case an awfully long way.....
methodwriter85 Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 (edited) No, that's my suggestion for Mary Ellen, not John's girlfriend. I'm kinda not really seeing how skimpy that outfit is- you can see her cleavage, but I wouldn't call it slutty. You guys clearly don't remember the outfits they had 17-year old Mischa Barton wearing on the O.C. Trevor Donovan from 90210 as Cody? He's got that whole bleached blond 30-ish gym rat hunk look that I picture Cody having. Edited June 17, 2012 by methodwriter85

You guys clearly don't remember the outfits they had 17-year old Mischa Barton wearing on the O.C. Is she actually dressed up to go out? Because it looks like she's just wearing her underwear, getting ready for people to show up. Or possibly winding down after a party. I've seen outfits that look like that, of course, I do live in Cali, but the fabric seems a bit too simple to be an actual top, so I'm actually not sure. Edit: Ah, never mind. I see now that it's one garment and not two separate pieces. It actually looks fine that way. It wouldn't if her chest was bigger, but dresses like that are made for bodies like hers. It brings out her curves while allowing the eye to drift where she wants it to, but it isn't so flashy or vulgar that it draws attention away form her face. Trevor Donovan from 90210 as Cody? methodwriter85 Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 You're really kind of conservative in terms of how you think people should dress and look, aren't you? I grew up around a bunch of attention-whore performing arts kids who wanted attention at every turn, so wild dress doesn't really phase me much. Anyway, here's another Trevor Donovan picture: He's definitely got the pretty boy blond look in spades. It was ridiculous buying him as a teenager on 90210, but you couldn't deny the man was hot. His nickname at Television Without Pity was "Hot Gay Grandpa."
methodwriter85 Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) I read Mark's description of Will's new therapist, and I thought immediately, "an adult Cappie from Greek." Whenever I see Scott Michael Foster, I keep thinking, "Good-looking guy but he needs a haircut." Edited June 19, 2012 by methodwriter85
Mark Arbour Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 His hair is too styled. Gary Anderson would have more of a straight, Bohemian look. methodwriter85 Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Right. I was going with Cody because Trevor Donovan is 33, but then again ages don't really matter. It's kind of hard to find actors that rock the whole straight, long bohemian lock, so I went with guys I knew had long hair. LOL. I still think Cappie is totally how I picture that guy's college personality.
PrivateTim Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 His hair is too styled. Gary Anderson would have more of a straight, Bohemian look. I like this look.... heading to the Rider Strong look.
methodwriter85 Posted June 22, 2012 Author Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) Aside from Mike Vogel, I could totally see Ryan as Hunter Parrish. It depends on if Mark sees Ryan as having a rounder face, like Mike Vogel, or a long, angular face like Hunter Parrish. You really have a thing for blonds, don't you Mark? I think the majority of characters tend to be blonds. LOL. Edited June 22, 2012 by methodwriter85
Mari Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Can this be Will all grown up? please? I adore this guy
methodwriter85 Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 We already have our Will, basically a green-eyed version of Sean Faris(I picked him out in 2009), so this is Will: But I think Matt Bomer totally looks like Lou. (The one currently living in Canada as a news anchor, and played Matt's boyfriend at the country club to piss off his parents.)

methodwriter85 Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 Green eyes are pretty awesome. If you like green eyes, Mark decided on John Hobart as looking like Colton Haynes from Teen Wolf...his eyes are kind of a greenish blue color. In any event, the face doesn't have to look exactly like the character- modifications can be made. The biggest one is basically that JP is described as looking like Ricky Nelson, but if Ricky Nelson had blond hair and a short, skinny body. If Mark's taking any requests...Brant Daugherty from Pretty Little Liars as...someone. Maybe some hot Stanford jock that Wade can get into. What a hunk. He also looks like someone that would be fun to cuddle with, so I can see Mark rolling with that kind of look.
methodwriter85 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 (edited) Back to the females for a second... I am convinced Mark had Gail O'Grady(best known for NYPD Blue and American Dreams) in mind when he described Claire: Edited July 1, 2012 by methodwriter85
