Since I have dual citizenship, I'll list the heads of state from the U.S. and Canada that I have lived under....

5 each from Canada and the United States.

(Technically the head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, but the Prime Ministers seem more appropriate for this discussion)

Brian Mulroney 1984-1993

Kim Campbell 1993-1993

Jean Cretien 1993-2003

Paul Martin 2003-2006

Stephan Harper 2006-

UNITED STATES cowboy.gif

Ronald Reagan 1981-1989

George H. W. Bush 1989-1993

Bill Clinton 1993-2001

George W. Bush 2001-2009

Barack Obama 2009-present

John F. Kennedy (1961-1963)

Lyndon B. Johnson (1963-1969)

Ronald Reagan (1981-1989)

George H. W. Bush (1989-1993)

Hmmm

Pierre Elliott Trudeau 1968-1979

Joe Clark 1979-1980

Pierre Elliott Trudeau 1980-1984

John Turner 1984-1984

Brian Mulroney 1984-1993

Kim Campbell 1993-1993

Jean Cretien 1993-2003

Paul Martin 2003-2006

Stephan Harper 2006-Present

So I guess eight :)

Being one of the senior Canadians, I also got to "experience" the following 3 PM's as well

Louis St-Laurent 1948 - 1957 (I was born in 1950)

John Diefenbaker 1957 - 1963

Lester B. Pearson 1963 - 1968

Thanks for saving me all that typing, Steve. :D

One.... Her Majesty the Queen.

The Iron Lady (The Blessed St. Margaret Thatcher :P ) was unfortunately never president or head of state - though if wishing made it so.....

And although I preceded you in 1945, my list would be the same.

Wait, wait. Franklin D. Roosevelt died Aril 12, 1945, so he would be first on the list for some 27 days.

I believe that Canadians should also be able to lay claim to US presidents....cause we all know who's running the show here anyway.

Oops! That wasn't political, was it? There goes my warning bar.

Shhhh.....Don't tell Grame. :lmao:

Good GRIEF!!!

Did you catch me with my knickers down?

I was only--NOT BORN--when Roosevelt died, then?

Must be *oldtimers*! And a great loss of American History on this end.

Ok for all the Englishman/women out there, count Prime Ministers, not Queens. Gosh, you Brits! :P

It goes against the grain, becuase Prime Ministers are head's of Government, not state, but here goes:

Thatcher

Major

Blair

Brown

Cameron

So that makes, 3 conservatives, 1 labour who betrayed his party by ACTING conservative, and another labour who betrayed HIMSELF by not doing what he believed in.... not bad
