blake_logan Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 And to follow on with the apparent mother theme..... "I'm not going to put her in a home. I'm going to kill her." 1
thebrinkoftime Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 (edited) Throw Momma From the Train, the Danny Devito classic with that broad from the goonies? Edited September 15, 2013 by thebrinkoftime
blake_logan Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Nope. The quoted movie was about 17 years before 'Throw Mama...'
blake_logan Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Hmmm....perhaps another clue is in order. A second quote from the movie: "I'd know that tush anywhere!"
BEKelley Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Is that from Love and Other Disasters? If so, then: “Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, and drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever.”
Kiltie69 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Ok that one gave it away I think, Going Ape. Poor Gordon.
blake_logan Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Sorry, B_E. There are lots of good quotes from "Love & other Disasters", but that's not one of them. I've always known this movie as "Where's Poppa?" but checking for additional quotes last night, I discovered that it is also known as "Going Ape" so contratulations to Kilty for a correct guess. Directed by Carl Reiner, it's the story of a dutiful son, Gordon Hocheiser (played by George Segal), who promised his father on his death bed that he would take care of his mother (played by Ruth Gordon) and never put her in a home. As mom's dementia progressed, Gordon's life went to hell while his brother Sidney continually reminded him of his promise to his dying father. The mother would frequently ask "Where's Poppa?", hence the title. I guess the a.k.a. "Going Ape" title came from the scenes where Gordon wears a gorilla costume. Highly recommended if you're into dark comedy. Not politically correct.
Kiltie69 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Known as Going Ape over here Blake . Lots of movies get dual titles for Eu and Us release ok my quote. Your a Dog! Your my Dog!
Kiltie69 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Old Yeller Sorry Blake but no. My Life as a dog ? Nope slytherin, but the could have been an alternate title. Air Bud? Wrong again Blake Turner & Hooch? Not Turner and Hooch. ok clue time. this movie is set in Gangland Glasgow. It was released internationally. . Oh and no dogs in it. Well not of the canine kind.
