There is no night currently in Stockholm.

LOL, they're not that far North, John.

Oh, right she already told you.

How appropriate then! And we do get a few hours of darkness. Kiruna doesn't.

LOL, they're not that far North, John.

Reminder: I lived 5 long years in Stockholm. Mid June you can read the newspaper on the street at midnight without any artificial lights. I wouldn't call that night; maybe an extended sunset or rise.

(Not sure where lightening came from).

Yep, we have an official term for this phenomena: lyse nætter

or (shudder) Twilight

Vit natt. Makes sense. A cute oxymoron.

Twilight. We just need to feed the wolf and turn him gay ;-)

... seems things have fallen asleep here. To wake everyone up: I need to confess that my favorite character in Twilights actually was a vampire (shocking):

And in real life he looks even better ;-)

Yeah Kellan Lutz is pretty easy on the eyes.  Have to say though - could NOT imagine you watching the Twilight movies.  lol

Oh, I did. Twilight is perfect for intercontinental flights; and it's full of Freudian and Jungian aspects my brain was stimulated sufficiently while watching Mr. Lutz and the little wolf ;-) showing off their physiques.

Pretty sure the teenage girls of North America did not watch the series for its theoretical concepts - and yes -  I'm sure your "brain" was stimulated

I can assure you it was only my brain; for the other "brain" to be stimulated it was too teenagery. And I do get my kick from all the hidden aspects ... it's subliminal brainwashing of girls  ... very entertaining.

(Of course in Meta that's being analyzed as well ;-))

Yeah it was pretty teenagery.  I tried to watch the first one - couldn't do it.  I prefer my vampires to look more like Skarsgård and my wolves to look like Manganiello

Oh you will sooo hate Meta ;-)

I was less referring to the cast than the very one-dimensional good-vs.-bad fairy tale story-line as teenagery. But I guess I wasn't the target group, so it's okay. But LUtz as wolf, now for him I could turn into a bratty teenager again. LOL

And I was referring less to theory and plot as much as Skarsgård and Manganiello are pretty damned easy on the eyes :P

I agree that the Twilight plot was very one-dimensional.  No I would hazard a guess that you were not the target audience.

The Skarsgårds are all hot and Swedish! There are about 100 brothers. Stellan got his groove on a lot...

I had to look these guys up, Eagle!

You are right, they are both pretty hot!

Oh yeah - that show had some great eye candy

It sure did... True Blood had some of the best... don't forget Jason and Sam... and even Jason's best friend who loved Jessica was hot... I want to say his name was Drew?, but I'm not sure...

Twilight JAR?  I am the sappiest romantic you can ever meet and I couldn't even watch that.  You have a stronger stomach than I do.  :P

I found the 20 min fight scene premonition in the last movie quite entertaining ...

... and the thought of wolves imprinting got me down a very dark alley ...

Seriously:

The evil is not only obvious but European (symbol of decadence)

She saves her vampire wish for after the marriage (double deflowering?)

Patchwork family on the vampire side (modern inclusiveness?)

the notion of everlasting love between two creatures who cannot die? ultimate western concept of infinity vs. Eastern concept of cycles

The trope a child is the reason for war and ultimately not fighting it (Christian symbolism?)

The fact a father has to give his daughter to a vampire (if that doesn't say anything how fathers think about losing their previous daughters)

Shall i go on?

I think Tim would have really liked Jason too - blonde, great muscle definition and a cop.

For the first time ever I ran out of likes.

Now THAT's a woman of my heart. Not needing to talk with a man.

Straight men would be so much more fun if most women thought like that ...
