They're very impressive Sonnets, Parker. You continue to make your quatrains flow more and more, and I appreciate your quick, technical progress along these lines

as righteous religion,

released a blind and senseless rage.

Weep, now.

 

Recall

There are good deeds and bad deeds in every religion. But implementing one person's evilness to entire religion, is never good(in my opinion). Religion never said to kill people, even in ugly times. These poems touched my heart, both good way and bad way. Sorry if my words felt offended to you.

 

I myself grieving on lost souls of Orlando. Just putting the pieces together to be strong. Thank you for the poems my friend.

I like it very much. First it just feels and reads with such classic style. Then it emphasizes a shared humanity and while we could in frustration seek vengeance instead we offer love. These are lovely words please share them ...

By 'submit this' you mean to the Love is Love poetry anthology...? I would say definitely do that; it's an awesome poem.

Help me, my dear fine Live Poets...

 

I wrote this a couple years ago; it may be suitable for the Love is Love anthology, but I am very uncertain. It seems a bit personal to me, so any feedback you have about its suitability for submission will be highly appreciated. Thx <3 <3 <3   

 

 

Why do we have a brain, if not to think –

Why a heart, if not to have it broken,

And so common wisdom would have us sink

To the state that nothing can be spoken.

Frustrated and sad that they can't let us be;

That a boy-loving boy is no big deal,

And there's no point in denying what they see,

That people join because of what they feel.

So if I ask you to take my hand now –

So if for your love I ask forever,

Will you sanctify blessings to avow

That love is love, despite all endeavor? 

Heart and mind, the universe in us beats,

And in measure all enmity defeats.
