Well yesterday was a pretty s****y day.

Had my Doctor chasing up my Kidney Stone Surgery with the Urology Department, my Doctor was told I'm on the waiting list and nothing can be, unless I become seriously become seriously ill then I go to Accident and Emergency.

They couldn't say how long ill be on the waiting list, due to Omicron and the Booster Jab program.

Then to top it all off I had a Tonic Clonic Epileptic Seizure last night.

I  hate to hear that. I know you've had a long, long wait to get this taken care of. Do you think that the kidney stones could have brought about the seizure? Might be worth mentioning to your doctor as it could possibly move you up on the list. Sending positivity and good thoughts your way.

My Seizures are brought on by stress.

I'd think that'd be a powerful argument to getting your stone removed. I know the variant has done a number on the systems there, but damn.

Good luck, Chris.

Endless and ongoing. At 5pm last night my agent was on hold waiting to talk to their agent. Was supposed to get a txt w. results but never did.

Firefox updated it's password storage system -- w/o any notice I saw -- and now I've lost everything I had saved.  :(

Once I was able to log back into Firefox, all my passwords were there again.

Still don't have the email from AllState that will start the process to fix the car.  Rental car will have to be out-of-pocket then reimbursed (good thing for good credit), but the earliest a "mid-sized sedan" will be available is LATE FRIDAY afternoon -- and they won't "upgrade" to an SUV, despite the fact that crawling into and out of a sedan is painful to the joints.

All around, very frustrating and blood pressure this evening is MUCH higher than it should be.  SP keeps telling me to just relax, it will all work out. I know he's right, but it's hard for me to do.

Listen to your husband, Fae. I know you're trying, and that's good. I put "love" on the reaction because you've got SP there reminding you that it will work out.

Treat yourself somehow. Dessert, or a hot tub, or just binge a funny show. Do something you'd otherwise consider an indulgence. It'll help.

@Wayne Gray is right.

Even though relaxing when you're so stressed seems impossible, try to take a few moments for yourself. It really does do wonders. SP has your back.

Excuse me Good Sirs and DiC friends

wanted to stop in and wish everyone Good Morning.

this was sent to me by Nick Ortner

lots of good things to think about

Reminders for Trying Something Differently

Instead of giving up, try looking at the problem from a new angle.

Instead of holding on, try letting go.
Instead of wishing things were different,

try taking action to make a difference.

Instead of resisting, try accepting.

Instead of worrying about what could go wrong, wonder about what could go right.

Instead of speeding up, try slowing down.

Instead of complaining, try practicing gratitude and saying thank you.

Instead of pulling away, try leaning in.

Instead of being hard on yourself, try being gentle with yourself

take care

Went and got my Covid booster today. In and out of the pharmacy in less than 10 minutes.

However, pharmacy was in the grocery store, but hey, I used my points and got a 7lb prime rib roast for Christmas dinner for just over $20. Now to find some good fish on sale.

Have a good weekend everyone!

My husband brought home hippie granola bars. But ... they had CHUNKS of dark chocolate in them. So I swung from happy when I first saw the box, to disappointed upon learning the Flower Children had made them, to happy again when I realized they had dark chocolate in them.

Nothing against hippies. Not now that I know they use chocolate.

On my way home from the gym this morning and on the radio was the tail end of a re-broadcast of Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from this week in 1980. I was just in time for the #1 hit that week. It was 'Lady' by Kenny Rogers. I haven't heard that song in probably 25-30 years.

I knew Every. DAMN. Word! 🤣🤣

🎼"Laaayyyddeeeeee.... I'm your 🎵knight in shining armor 🎶and I lllluuuuuuvvvvv🎵 yuuoooooooo"🎶

Gotta be the sappiest love song ever!

Hope y'all are having a good day!

You do realize that chocolate isn't their secret ingredient, right Wayne?

I live in Humboldt County California. I can get the "secret ingredient" anytime I want. I'm way more interested in chocolate. 😛

Is it just me who had never heard of a butter bell until recently?

My brother and his family are coming for Christmas and they prefer butter over margarine, so it got me to thinking about how to keep it both fresh and soft enough to spread while they’re here.

I discovered this delightful kitchen “gadget” that truly does what I need it to do.

I didn’t get it from this site, but I like their description of said gadget.

 https://www.butterbell.com/

While I ended up going for cute - the white one pictured beside the history of the butter bell is the one I chose - rather than one that was the simplest to use, because I forgot about the water level marker truth be told. By simple, I mean the ones that have the water level marked, so no measuring is required.

I’ve been testing it since Dec 2 with water changes every three days. And I have to say it works. Like really well. So much so, I might be a butter convert - maybe. :P

Just thought I’d share my find with the class.

PS: I’m thinking the water might be changed every day or two during the summer months. Time will tell…

Love these, but always forget to check the water level.  :(

I have a repeating reminder on my tablet’s calendar so I don’t forget, which I have until the reminder reminded me to do it. So far, so good.

Thanks for asking, spyke. We're doing okay here. We had some stores lose windows, and some chimneys came down on a few neighborhood homes, but nobody got seriously injured. The most damage happened to one of the local casinos. They lost the lobby ceiling, and their main water line burst. So the place got flooded, and had to be closed immediately. It's blind luck nobody was seriously hurt.

Our little house is fine. It has been here since 1940, and I think the place will still be here after we're gone. 🙂

Glad you're okay Wayne!
