Good Afternoon, DiC'ers.

 

How is everyone this afternoon?

I can now finish assessment #2, after reading everything. *small cheer*. Though there is one part on it that I'm trying to figure out. "Choose a Problem you have control over, and use the following form to record your observations, alternatives, and possible solution to it." Oh, I have a few I could use, but it's more along the lines of "which one do I want to share with school?"

 

Also, my Mom called... she needed something, because < REDACTED as Reader would smack me for the use of profanity, about the idiots at the Rehab Center she's in >... that we just went and got at Walmart... on Fraking Christmas Eve. It was a "we had to go" situation.

Christmas dinner has been eaten. I am so full. We’ve had ice cream too. Now there’s a Christmas concert on TV, and we’re about to start opening presents. Just making some tea and coffee first.

Turkey for tomorrow thawed - done

brocolli cut and ready to steam tomorrow - done

Too bad I drove 30 min to the barn to feed because today is the hands day off ( he has every Monday off and I take care of batching feed that day regularly) only to find out he moved his day off to Wednesday, he batched everything up,  and no one told me.  Now I get to drive down on what was supposed to be my second holiday day (because I was supposed to work today) and do it all over again.

Bit of a Christmas miracle.  One of my older students cancelled her lesson today as she did not want to leave her house phone and computer. Her son and daughter in law are in Indonesia and she had not yet heard from them when she cancelled.  She called me a little bit ago - the entire bunch of them were on the opposite side of a peninsula visiting another branch of the family when the tsunami hit.  They are high and dry and safe.

That's good news!  i had no idea there had been a tsunami..

I think I'm going into a hibernation phase.  Volunteer work at USFS visitor center has been cancelled during shutdown.  Haven't left the house for three days now, simply because it's more fun to hang out on GA or write titillating prose than to fight seasonal stupidity.     I'll have dinner tomorrow with my excellent neighbors.  My contribution will be one or two bottles from my wine closet.  Happy Holidays to everyone.

Hope everyone's enjoying Christmas Eve! I've gotten into bed. Gonna write a bit before sleeps, I think. 

Oh! And I've got to show you guys the awesome cufflinks my stepdad lent me. They're made by a designer from the north of Norway, from tanned salmon skin! Apparently it gets super strong and durable if you treat it the right way. Who knew? Salmon skin!

those are wonderful!  Phil liked them too, thought they might have been rattlesnake (it would be snake here in Texas)

I just want to say Merry Christmas to all of you who make the Drop in Centre their little home away from home.  We've gone through happy and sad times together. We support each other and i think, care about each other.  I love you all.  Merry Christmas from Michael and me.  xo
