Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted September 4, 2020 Author Popular Post Posted September 4, 2020 have a good day everyone went to the shrink today. i've been struggling with a few things lately ... but my shrink is a good man with a good sense of humour (tim, you are the reason i need to dye my hair). But he also said when we first met, "When I can be, I'll be sympathetic, however, when you are face down in the mud, me laying down beside you is not going to help you get up." So, i told the thing that happened with someone i loved very much (a friend) and he said: he said he was sorry to hear about what this friend did. He said, i cant fix it, and you cant, time will help. But you can help yourself, by using your meditation and mindfulness that you're learning. When that person comes to mind.. allow it and then realize his choices are out of your control and let it go. You cant change him but you can get control of how you react. So, i guess it will hurt for longer and i'll get used to not having him in my life anymore ... but as i look back at things, i'm not sure now he ever really cared about me that much. Anyway... shit happens and we need to deal with it. i just want all of you to know i am grateful for your friendship and support xoxo 9

I like your therapist's outlook. We all need someone to stand next to us when we're face down in the mud and offer a hand so we can pick ourselves up. Being hurt and betrayed by someone you loved is always hard. I think many of us have faced some hardships and setbacks the past few weeks. I lost another nephew on Tuesday. A little bird told me to process it however I needed to, so I have. My heart breaks for yet another of my brothers. It just makes no sense. So far they don't know why, only that he collapsed in a parking lot. I took a page from your book tim and tried my hand at poetry and posted it. It did help. The poem is probably shit, but it helped me sort through some emotions, so thank you. I'm heading to Tallahassee on Sunday. My son will be hugged just a little bit more than usual. My wish for everyone for today is that you discover one thing that brings you a moment of joy. Have a good day. 6 1

I am so glad you found him. I am grateful that you are in my life, tim. Your stories fill me up, but it is your thoughts about things and the advice and encouragement you share with all of us that I truly value. Being able to call you friend? Priceless. Take care, tim, and enjoy the cooler weather. Edited September 4, 2020 by Reader1810 7

I'm sorry to hear that. and yeah -- it seems like a lot of us have had a few rather 💩 weeks recently; we just have to trust they will pass - though that is much easier to say, than to do 4 3

Popular Post kbois Posted September 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2020 Good morning all. Not that it's great. Of course it started with an early morning call from my older son. He's in the ER. They think it's a kidney stone. He's doing ok. Texting me updates and feeling no pain. They gave him morphine. At least he has insurance through school. I just can't win this week. 😕 4 2

At this point all I can do is look life straight in the eye and say 'bring it!' Although with the way this week has been I'll probably step outside and get hit in the head with toilet ice falling from a plane. If y'all see a weird news story this weekend that starts with 'Florida woman..' it's most likely me. 🙃🤪 2 3

Hopefully that is before toilet ice hits you. i have been good this morning.. made baked oatmeal for the one i love, and someone is having a birthday tomorrow so i baked him a pumpkin cake this morning. I just need to keep it away from him until tomorrow. 1 4
