I'm also retired, so dependant on my pension. It is a beautiful place, but if I can't afford to fix it up, it would be foolish of me to start spending all my life savings on it, and then find myself completely broke... Absolutely... sorry for what happened, but glad you knew beforehand. 6

I still haven't made a final decision on this. I can afford to buy the place. I have more than enough money in the bank to do that. It's not going to actually fall down in the near future (or even the distant future). I could even afford to buy it and still pay the rent for the place I am living in, which is actually right behind it. The garden would certainly be a welcome addition, as the house I am renting has no garden at all, just a paved yard that's shared with six other houses. If I bought it, I could slowly make some improvements to it and, even if I never actually live in it, I would probably be able to sell it on again in the future and likely make a good profit off it. So I'm still considering my options. Edited September 16, 2019 by Marty Tidying up 5 2

Popular Post Headstall Posted September 16, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 16, 2019 I just had a wonderful walk in the woods with Cookie... Falkor came with us, but he took a shortcut. It's a beautiful day... the only bad thing is my lawn has grown again... quickly... so I may have to mow it again. Oh well... it's worth this beautiful fall. I have crockpot roast/stew on, and it smells delicious... another hour and I will chow down. 2 5

I need a reason to laze in bed. Well ... actually I don't. I spent my morning washing fabric for the shop mistress. She uses it to make reversible double-weight cotton chamois flannel cloaks. I've done it a couple times earlier in the season. Takes about three hours to wash, dry and fold. The pieces vary in length from 6 to 8 yards and are 48 to 54 inches wide. It's usually not an issue. She leaves it in the shop Sunday night after the faire closes and I pick it up on Monday morning while I'm out grocery shopping since the grocery store is about halfway between home and the shop. On the way home I stop at the laundromat and load it into the extra large commercial washers to wash while I continue home to unload and put away the groceries. Then back to the laundromat to run the clean fabric through the commercial size dryers. When it's all washed, dried and folded it goes into plastic trash bags to protect it until needed. I leave it in my car until Tuesday morning when I go to a nearby farmers market which is also part way to the shop. Doing it that way just adds a little extra time driving to two of my weekly chores not a big deal. Two weeks ago after the last batch I explained I could wash fabric this past week but not this week because mum is coming and I need a couple days to get ready for her and must go to Philly tomorrow. No problem. She lends us clothes for mum to wear as her faire garb. It was the prototype garb the mistress made for a theatrical costume. No one else uses it and it's mum's size. Works out well. So Saturday when I arrive at the shop she tells me she has mum's garb in her car along with fabric to launder. "Oh ... but ..." Now leaving the garb in the car may not sound like a problem but we park in a large lot behind the faire and since we come and go at different times don't usually park near one another. That means a special trip to the shop on Monday morning. Well shyte ... might as well wash the bloody fabric too. The shop is over 20 twenty miles away and is a 40-45 minute trip oneway. Yeah, an hour and a half round trip to pickup the fabric then another to return it, 90 miles. Took the entire morning from 6:30am until nearly 1pm. I'm knackered my head aches and the only chores I managed at home was to launder my bed linens and remake the bed and to hand wash a bunch of dishes, no dishwasher. The sweet potato and cauliflower I put in to roast for a late lunch/early supper just finished so I'm gonna eat and then crash 'cause my head aches. Thanks for letting me vent. Oh yeah, and now you know why I need something pretty to hold my hand and drop butterfly kisses on my brow. Edited September 16, 2019 by dughlas 1 2 4

That sort of thing should be dealt with before placing the property on market, or at least declared in the statement. 12 hours ago, Caz Pedroso said: Morning all Ali is back at school and I am enjoying having the house to myself at long last. Page Scrawler Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Had another pizza at The Filling Station today. The Oktoberfest: Garlic oil, roasted onions and Kielbasa sausage, beer-braised sauerkraut, thin-sliced fresh apples, and a mustard créma. 4
