My daughter and DIL were coming home from my oldest daughter's birthday celebration at Medieval Times Saturday night, and they almost ran into a bear that wouldn't move off the road. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either, and it was less than half a kilometer from our driveway. Been working in the woods, cleaning up some downed branches in the section I've cleared and groomed, and heard a cracking noise fairly close. Went (walked very quickly) back to the house I got my airhorn. Don't need a big critter with big claws sneaking up on me. 1 3 2

My eyes haven't been right since getting pneumonia. Writing a story is hard, but it's the work that comes after that is tricky. Soooo many ways to say the same thing. 6

Page Scrawler Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 I'm finally able to get outside and do some planting! Lem, my 3-year-old lemon tree that Max named, is 24 inches tall from the base. I was able to successfully transplant them into a larger container with some specialized potting soil and a bit of fertilizer. Now they'll grow even bigger. I'm also planting some more rosemary, mint, and basil. Beets, potatoes, and leeks, too. New crops this year: ginger, garlic, and scallions. Max said that he wants to try making... tofu. So, I'm looking at some soybeans, as well. 5
