Btw, my brother’s been visiting this past week, so I’m behind in my reading. Having read a couple of reviews I’m looking forward to reading what you posted last week. Oh, and wish me luck I’m able to wake up tomorrow on time to see my brother off at 5 am — gotta love those early morning flights. And some of it's not even right, and it'll correct itself after you accept it. LOL I don't hate commas, but they are the one grammatical thing that makes me bang my head on the keyboard, especially when Grammarly tells you to put one in, which you do, and then it promptly tells you to take it out. Sigh. What's the difference between a cat and a comma? Spoiler One has claws at the end of it's paws and the other is a pause at the end of a clause. 2 2 1
Popular Post Brayon Posted Tuesday at 07:43 AM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 07:43 AM I made the mistake once of clicking an YouTube video that was an AI reading an AI created story. Then YouTube's AI algorithm said, "You must really like these..." And started suggesting them all the time. (Was curious what HFY and Deathworlder were. Turns out that HFY stands for "Humans, Fuck Yeah!", and Humans are Deathworlders, because the Earth is trying to kill us, with our climate, flora, and fauna. Some Reddit shitpost and mostly AI Slop.) Took me a week to retrain the algorithm. I want to read real stories, 100% certified Human. Not AI Slop. Incidentally, there's a radio station here in Tampa that says it is 100% certified Human. From playlists, to songs, to ads, to DJs no AI allowed. Mix 100.7 iHeart Radio 3 1 2

There are a few channels on YouTube which tell you they are still human. I watch those. Too much tech and AI isn't good. My web architect friend said enough...he's on a computer all the time for work, his house was run by a computer, lights, music, blinds...he took all of that out. It was too much. We don't have all of that, but we have phones, a tablet, laptops and Michael's work computer. I don't want a fridge that monitors me. Everything beeps, the Instant Pot, the toaster oven, the oven oven, the microwave, a timer we have that i want to step on....lol. Our old kettle died a couple of months ago ... it beeped. I bought one of Amazon's own kettles...no beeping, it has a blue light that you can look at to determine when its finished boiling. How did people manage before all of this stuff? lol 1 4

Have a good one Yeah, this time his departure went without a hitch. in ‘25, he and my nephew were leaving early after a visit in the summer. It was still dark outside and the front door was open so they could watch for their ride to the airport. Sounds good, right? Nope, not so good. All of a sudden there was about a dozen flying ants clinging to the walls in the front hall. After a quick exit out the door, I went on a killing spree. Luckily, the ants were kinda sluggish, so they were easy pickings. My brother and nephew got to enjoy the cool morning air while they waited on the porch for their ride to show up, so all was good with them. 5

I found one of the “real people” ones a couple days ago. You can certainly tell the difference in quality vs the AI ones. I left a comment, because it was an quality work - storyline and the “writing” - and got a thank you comment from the author making note of what I said in my comment, which was nice. Initially, I didn’t realize I was listening to AI stories as I don’t pay attention to the small print below the title. I just thought it was computer readers making the mistakes. Now, I know better. 1 5

We got to taste the fresh milk and all I remember was the shock I felt because it was warm and gross. That's pro ably why to this day I can only drink milk if it's ice cold. Thanks for jogging that memory lol. 6

Maybe I'm just a weirdo too, but its something I've noticed. As have I. Some start out pretty good, then go downhill as they progress. Excessive adjectives, repetitive names, same basic plot with a change of city. I believe you can program in a minimum word count per chapter. Perhaps the extra adjectives are to meet that? One story i attempted to read repeated the same 3 paragraphs 4 times. Another took the same chapter, changed 1 or 2 facts and called it a new chapter, not once but 4 times before I dumped it.

Between the street light outside my one bedroom window, the neighbor's motion activated flood light that shines on the other window, the red digits of the alarm, the little "active" light on the breaker bar extention cord, the "on button is here" light on my c-pap, the light on the fan control, and the "charging" light my phone insists on displaying, my bedroom never gets dark. Then there is the clock on the stove, the one on the microwave, the light on the ice maker, the thermostat, the power on light on the chest freezer.... I have not needed a night light in close to 20 years!
