I live close enough to ground zero that I watched the towers fall out of the skyline from my upstairs window. Many parents from the elementary school I worked in at the time worked in the city. We got lucky, no one from our area lost anybody. It is not a day I will ever need services, slow ring of bells, or anything else to remember. I make it a point to NOT watch.

If it's Friday, it's golf league. Imagine beer league softball, but virtual golf. Teams of 2, lot's of good fun. Loud, noisy, in the best way. A few of the young couples have very young children, 2 to 11 months.  So i get to be Auntie for a few hours. i get to watch Phil do something He enjoys, have an adult beverage and a snack. It's been such a good thing for Him and i am so proud of how far His golf game has come.

Hello everyone! 

September has chugged almost halfway through and I'm reeling from it.  Lol 

Today I go to my nieces 3rd birthday party. I'm not expecting it to be anything other than a too noisy chaotic mess with a bunch of very conservative folk with way too many kids judging me.  But I love my niece and she's my kids only cousin.  The things we put up with for family.

Good luck! Between my husband and I we had 23 nieces and nephews. I hated going to kids birthday parties (still do) but did it for the sake of keeping the peace. Now that there are great nieces and nephews in the picture, we have happily turned down invitations to chaos and felt not one iota of guilt. Also, when it comes to my husband's family, I don't care if I start a war anymore.

Good lord did it rain here this morning! Had to delay start of the horse show twice and finally cancel completely when the rings turned to ponds.

I am pondering a question this morning.

If one renders an explanation several times to the same individual and stresses that documents now have to be signed online, why did said individual go into his resident portal and print out the document, sign it manually (which is like 20 different places on an 55 page lease), then scan the whole thing and email it to us?

He was in the portal. All he had to do was click on the first highlighted box, type his name and hit next. His signature will drop onto any highlighted area. Click on yellow, hit next. Repeat until you get to the end and hit submit. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I've seen a lot of not intelligent things in property management. This one settles in the top 5. 

Today is another beautiful day. I have the windows in my office wide open and am enjoying the cool air.

Reminds me of when I worked in travel and every time a certain coworker called anywhere that had an automated menu she would literally holler "AGENT AGENT AGENT AGENT AGENT" until the system finally transferred her or one of us yelled "Patti SHUT UP" 

Omg... Loved her to death but she was a square peg in a round hole. 

I don't blame you for hanging up. Try online. I was able to remove my son from our policy and didn't have to make a call.

He literally had to access the document in order to print it. He was there. In the document. It was open. I have no idea why he bailed and chose to print out 50 some-odd pages. He also missed a bunch of places that had to be initialed so he would have had to redo it anyways.

Yes, he could print it but it doesnt mean he had the access to a pdf in order to sign it.  It's different depending on his software.

I talked to him a little bit ago and he said he could open everything just fine. 

I'm done trying to figure these people out lol

I just got done programming keys for a transfer that was supposed to be tomorrow. It's for a church who rents apartments for their missionaries. They have two units at our property. The elder guy showed up this morning and of course our manager is in the corporate office this week and was supposed to have had everything done. Did she? No. Of course not. 

She tells me to do the lease and then goes and does it. Argh. Make up your mind you ADHD squirrel on speed!

So I had to go program their key fobs while the elder dude went to get money orders for the security deposit. She didn't tell him we needed that either. 

Oh...and in the middle of all this I have tour come in and two separate residents locked themselves out. 

I can't even ask Jesus to take the wheel at this point. 

Gonna be one of those days lol.

Hey, amazingly there were only 4 cars in front of us at the French border control at Channel tunnel entrance in UK. When we arrived in Uk we could see miles of stopped traffic on other side trying to get into the terminal.  Phew 😅 Just had a delicious French dinner at our hotel. Substantially cheaper than what we have been paying in Uk.   Last night a tiny glass of ordinary Chardonnay cost £18, 20-something in EUR or USD.  How anyone except super rich can afford to live in central London is beyond me!

Tomorrow a long journey to Vézelay in Burgundy for a three night stay and then back to Valencia to start my proofreading for the Anthology.
