And finding out what that is pushes Jason to fold or go all in.

You would think that falling in love and finding a boyfriend would get easier once you began coming out to your friends and family. But Gabe is finding out that the same nervous jitters, the same paralyzing fear, and the same unavoidable misery exists when lost in the maze of infatuation. Sometimes, finding what you really want in another boy can be just as terrifying as not finding it.

If life was there for the taking, then it might look a lot like Kay Walker’s life. A good family with liberal and accepting attitudes, doing impressively well at college both on and off the field, a big circle of friends, and a promising future.

Of course, there are a couple of problems with this picture. Firstly, it wouldn’t make a very interesting story. And secondly, perhaps more importantly, it’s not quite true. Or at least, it’s not the whole picture.

Arad Ansari is a homeless street slug in the Grey District A-5 colony. Work is hard to come by and he has to compete with the animal/human hybrids called DemiShou, forcing him to make his way in less than savory methods. Getting off-planet sounds like a godsend, but fate has a way of complicating the best opportunities of a man with little luck.
