This is the third and final part of the Confounded Trilogy, portraying a May - December story with familiar characters.

You would be wise to (re)read the previous parts of this trilogy, to get reacquainted with the characters; some you will know, some are new. Some references will hark back to previous writings, and will make more sense. This story is told from perspectives, so called Points of View (POV).

Andy and Donnie have been friends since the beginning, growing up in the same neighborhood, sharing the same friends, and now playing football on the same team in middle school. They’ve been inseparable throughout it all; but now a new line has been inserted in the equation that is their lives, one they have to learn to deal with, or face having their friendship perish:

Love.

Two twin boys, and gay. How to tell this story is simple but complicated. Devon a boy of 16 struggling with difficulties of a home life. Josh a boy of the same age, that has everything he wants, but one thing, his brother. Both are struggling with their past and maybe present. Hopefully they find each other. Together they might overcome, what is to come.

Wesley Cain is a young and vibrant man in his twenties, he was making his way up in the points at the rodeo. Then his Grandparents died, leaving him their ranch and his younger brother Joseph to watch over. He took his responsibility for his younger brother seriously. The two boys had lost their parents when Wes was a teenager. With his Grandparents gone and no-one to look after his brother or the ranch, he quit the rodeo, and moved back home.

Matt is a young teenager, who with the help of a new friend, discovers a new world of sexual experience. In the process, his life changes in ways he never expected.

Yonatan and Matan are back in Book 3 of the series. The first book was "Jimbo" followed by "Make Me As An Apple of Your Eye." The Emmanuelson twins are getting married and need Yonatan's assistance while he and Matan are trying to focus on their college education. Summer arrives and the fellows head to Paris for internships where they are also preparing for the birth of a child. When school resumes, events turn upside down, and the fellows realize that they are still being followed by forces who seek to destroy them and their family.

In a small Western Massachusetts former mill town, now part of a larger college circuit, people -- largely students -- keep getting approached.

They don't bring it on themselves -- or do they?

Police detective Elena Petrakis leads the investigation, while her standbys, Chief Owen Neland, Senior Detective Don Burris, Lt. Ike Omari, and Sgts. Jae Ryu and Rob Perez offer support.

Matt and Jeff have volunteered to help out at the school Fair For Life. As usual with his boyfriend, there's a small catch involved, and Matt has let Jeff talk him into accepting it. That he might regret it is almost certain!
