Prologue.

When I was in college, I had a friend that worked the summers at various resorts. In the fall when school would resume, he’d hold court at lunch and tell us tales of his summer experience, showing us his trinkets, that’s what he called them. Based on those tales, I wrote the following story, Home Away From Home.

Be warned, the story involves explicit sex between gay couples. If you have read any my other stories, this will be quite different.

Dani is a vampire with a special mission. Crafted in a sterile lab, he has never been human. Kept from society under the watchful eye of Vinicius, his enigmatic mentor, he's naive to the way of the world.

Something had to change.

Kurt Smith’s life should be perfect. His parents are high ranking werewolves in a stable and happy pack on the south coast of England. He’s strong, dominant, good looking. His life should be great. Unfortunately Kurt is the only werewolf to have been born a wolf, and he doesn’t understand humans at all. While Kurt is struggling to maintain his position in the pack, he goes and falls for the only known sufferer of wolf-related-dyslexia.

NFL quarterback Andrew Thompson is tired of being blasted in the press for his notorious playboy lifestyle and wild reputation. But just as he's trying to make changes in his life and become a better man, a brand new article by respected journalist Aubrey Miller, goes viral. The author berates Andrew for perpetuating a negative image of gay men in the media and questions his dedication to the community. Initially, the quarterback is furious with Miller, but a chance encounter with the handsome writer leaves him rather conflicted about his feelings.

Parallax needs help, but he never expected a human to walk the broken path.

Cory's first semester of college had ended on a high note--a boyfriend who was crazy about him, a budding romance between his best friend and his newest roommate, and more new friends than he could keep straight (but were cool that he wasn't). His life in Virginia was better than he could have imagined all those months back.
So, what the hell went wrong?

Children of God can seek sanctuary, protection, and shelter at any House of God; but what of those who are not? Creatures shunned by the Lord have only one option, and that is to seek out a Rectory Office and claim sanctuary. Aki is the warden of a quiet Rectory Office on the edge of the city, but it won't be very quiet for long.

That, or they’re rather unfortunate, for they have been selected to be enrolled into the most prominent yet enigmatic educational institution for all species, humans and magi. Little do they know, they are stepping onto a battlefield, rife with internal war and unchecked by figures of authority. The two friends are caught in the middle of it and in need of help if they want to survive Ironward Academy.
