One Hundred and Fifty-Five Sonnets - 8. effervescence

.

Sonnet No. 15

You love to lay into me like chocolate,

Before and after, you tell me the same,

That my skin savors of it; your favorite,

For it is enough to drive you insane.

Yet, when I am down; when I am unwell,

Your healing hands take that hurt unto you,

And our common suffering you dispel,

As if it were the least that you could do.

But I never want you to be in pain,

I want to overwhelm all your senses

With goodness and light, because it's the arcane

That you bring to me with your caresses.

So slide your hands, and melt me with your touch,

Like the chocolate, I know you love so much.

Sonnet No. 16

The way champagne bubbles crawl up a glass,

The way stars etch the dome of the night sky –

In slow motion, all the wonders amass,

And in my cloudy brain your thoughts magnify.

The feel of your fingers on my body,

The feel of your kisses over my ear –

Your rippling voice calling me your 'daddy…'

Makes me fall as if through the atmosphere.

While bubbles may be near, and the stars far;

The one within my grip, but not the rest,

My hold on you is like a shooting star,

For the wish I make is better than the best.

Thinking of you is like effervescence,

So, near or far, I can taste your essence.

Thank you, Puppilull! I love this review, and love the fact that chocolate melts at a temp just under our body temps. It makes it so sensual
