Poems for National Poetry Writing Month - April 2023

Inspired by Jan Hutchinson’s prompts for National Poetry Writing Month 2023.

As I said somewhere else, I won’t manage to write a poem a day this April. The start was delayed, as I didn’t want to bore you with unimaginative rants giving righteous indignation and certain occurrences too many words and importance.

Seth was happy to get out of the house for a while that night to celebrate his best friend, Steven's, birthday and party with a bunch of his classmates. But he never once could have expected to find himself in the glorious presence of Adler Prince when he saw him at the party too. When I was very young I didn’t question what I didn’t know.

I remember the first time I knew I was different, unique even. Maybe I had clues before hand, but nobody ever sat me down to spell it all out. Until, Charlie. He moved into the house next door.
