Uncle Will realized JB would never be able to return to Georgia. He had no interest in living there without JB. His family was in Ohio: Peter and Tom, Henry and Seth. He asked Peter to make arrangements to sell JB’s home. JB met with a lawyer in the town of Medina near the farm and arrangements were made to give Peter Power of Attorney to act on his behalf in the sale of his home and disposal of his property. He also had Power of Attorney to act on behalf of Uncle Will and JB with their banker and investment broker. Peter and Ronnie drove to Georgia the third week of August. Peter met with a real estate agent and prepared the house for sale. Mrs. Belle Forest arrived two days later with her husband and two other men from her church in Daisyville. The remaining items in the house and garage were given to Mrs. Forest to take or give to family, friends and her church in Daisyville. She asked many questions about her nephew Henry and his life in Cleveland. Peter assured her that his living conditions were comfortable and safe and that he was well liked at his school by both fellow teachers and students. He also told her that Henry and Seth were enjoying life in the North. Peter told her that Henry would be thrilled to have her and other family members visit. In less than a week the house had been emptied and was on the market. Peter also met with Will’s and JB’s banker and investment broker. Tom as a full time student would complete his masters in physics in June 1962 and continue studies in a PhD program. Louise was attending part-time to complete her masters in physics. Uncle Will generously paid the tuition, fee and book costs of Peter and Louise. Keith Kleman made sure Tom was eligible for a tuition reimbursement program at Olentangy Insurance. Uncle Will did pay for Tom’s education costs not covered by Olentangy. Ann planned to enter a masters in education program the following year after the birth.

Ann was able to teach until the end of the school year in June. Had she shown any sign of pregnancy she would have been asked to resign. It was considered inappropriate for a pregnant teacher to be exposed to children in 1962.
