    Anthology Check-In!

    Now that the Secret Author contest is behind us, it's time to focus on our next site event... the annual Anthology!  We have two themes this year - Horizons and Unspoken.  Which one is speaking to you?  Or are they both?  There's just about a month to go before the deadline to submit stories to me for the Proof Team to do their magic.  I've already had some stories come in, and I'm excited to see what else this anthology brings.  So, raise your hands... who's got something in the works for us?

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 22 - Aug. 28)

So it is nearly midnight in my time zone and I'm hungry  The thing is I'm trying to lose weight and carbs are my enemy. Don't ask me what a calorie is, but I can tell you about carbs since you should be counting them with certain types of diabetes. But the thing is, what snacking food is there that has little to no carbs? Most snack food are full of the nasty little things  Popcorn, chips, crackers, cookies, even a lot of drinks have a lot of carbs. No suggestions of coffee or tea black please!

Veggie Delivery

We signed up for weekly veggie delivery. Their mandate is to distribute fruit and vegetables that are not 'good' enough to sell to the usual markets and stores and sell them to subscribers weekly. It's $18 for the 'solo' box and $3 for delivery. So far it's been great. We've eaten everything, tried new things and enjoyed it all. We've had the most amazingly fresh food. It's cheaper and so much better than what we can purchase in our local grocery store. We've had the best peaches and cantal

So picking an excerpt for this story was a little hard. There's a lot of interesting information about Buddhism, this spiritual retreat, and the main characters.
