Comicality Tribute - Coming of Age - *Now Live*

Today is a bittersweet day, as we remember and pay tribute to a GA icon, @Comicality.  It's hard to believe it's been a year since he's been gone.  Today would have been Comsie's 50th birthday, so we thought it would be the perfect day to feature the tributes written by his friends and fellow GA authors.    Comsie was the first author to join GA, when Myr started the site back in 2002.  He garnered quite the following, and he gave back to the site in many ways - mentoring other a

What's Next?

We've already completed two events this year, Carlos Hazday's tribute and the Diversity Poetry Anthology.  Our third event, Coming of Age - A Tribute to Comicality, goes live tomorrow.  So, what's next on the radar?   Or, shall I say that @Cia has a secret  One of our most popular site events is the annual Secret Author contest, where stories are voted on without the readers knowing who wrote them.  Guessing who wrote what always creates great discussion!  Details should be coming soo

Sunburn anyone?  What is the rule #1 of when you have the first day above 20C/50F with the sun higher in the sky of Spring? Burn baby burn! I think not ! So, that kind of happened today and luckily it didn't really burn me, just a little bit of colour on my face, arms, and legs. In Canada, anything over 0C/32F is shorts weather, so normally I was shorting today . I did have an enjoyable 'me' day though. Got a massage, an adjustment (not on my attitude, you're out

2025 Poetry Anthology - Diversity Wrap-Up

We had eight poems featured by site poets who were inspired by the theme of "Diversity".  I really enjoyed everyone's unique take on an important theme.  If you haven't done so, check out the links below and leave the poets a reaction or comment.  A huge thank you to everyone who contributed poetry, read, reacted, commented, and reviewed.  You guys are what makes this site so awesome!  There's always behind-the-scenes help when it comes to anthologies, so I would like to extend my heartfelt than

Welcome to April's Signature Author Feature! I'm obviously featuring one of our Classic authors this month, and this oldie but goodie, might have escaped you. Dolores posted Space Pioneer 1 way back in 2014, so I wanted to bring it back now for your reading enjoyment. It features two of my favorite themes, Ancient Egypt and space!  Length: 50,140 Description: On his trip to Mars, Jeff's shuttle gets dragged through space by an alien spaceship that is performing a space jump. Who has a cold that won't go away 🙋‍♂️ It has been a week. I'm sick of water, I'm sick of Vitamin C, I'm sick of decongestants, I'm sick of everyone giving me suggestions on what to do  None of them work.  Anyhow, how is everyone doing?  Can't bring the mood of the Weekly Wrap Up down afterall   I was looking at the south Pacific looking where a place was in a article I was reading and I saw Guam on the map. Just rolled in at 1:30 AM local time! No, I was not out drinking with Brad. Ironically I was at Brad's playing poker . Not high stakes poker, but the kind that a bunch of guys, all of them married but me, and I the token gay guy, get together and and have a drink and play some rounds and bs and rib each others 🎴. Needless to say I contributed my $20 for 2 games and came home with nothing   One guy there was telling us of how he is starting an online business auctioneering things, and he was

Oh Lordy, lordy! What day is it? When trying to put in the title of the Weekly Wrap Up it took me about 5 times until I looked at the calendar on the bottom right of my computer.   Yes, when most of North America and the rest of the world have flipped the calendar to March 23rd, I'm still stuck in the 22nd  I guess the great thing that happened a few days ago was that Spring has sprung 🌈. In my neck of the woods that means that April and May snowstorms bring June flowers .  So I

Diversity Exercise #2

We're getting down to the wire for submissions to the annual Poetry Anthology.  Submissions are due March 30th, so there is about a week and a half to get your links posted to the thread in the Anthology forum of the Writer's Circle.  I'm really looking forward to reading the different interpretations of "Diversity".   I thought it would be fun to do another exercise using the Diversity theme.  This would be a great jumping off point for poems for the anthology *hint hint*  We can create a
