Weekly Wrap Up!

Announcement: As we've recently noted, we're working with our Hosted Author's to promote their eBooks. A few weeks ago we were proud to announce Cia's eBook Pricolici, and in today's "New Reading", we have Lugh's eBook Catara - which has a surprising ending. This is just the start and we look forward to working with more of our author's in the future and, as always, are exploring other ways of supporting the authors of this site.   October is almost half over - this year has been passing so f

Weekly Wrap Up!

The weekend is almost over - but at least NEXT weekend will be a three-day one for many of us in the states.   We've had a busy week with a ton of great feedback. For our "Tuesday tip", we did something different and had a poll as well as requests for open comments about this news blog. If you haven't chimed in, or if you have something new you want to add - please go and either post there or as a comment here.   One of the suggestions has even been implemented already. As we continually ask

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun 12 - Jun 18)

It's once again time to take a look at what has happened here on GA this past week. Emotions have run high after the news about the tragic shooting in Orlando, Florida. While many of us couldn't find the words to say how we felt, Steve managed to do what we couldn't, and shared some thoughts on what happened in Orlando. Some authors, both here at GA and others, are putting together a Poetry Anthology to benefit the victims of the Pulse shooting. If you're interested in participating, you can che

On Monday, we got a great review of prolific Hosted Author Mark Arbour's Wars End. It appears that Renee is living up to her name this past week and is actually being a Crazy Mountain Lady. So if you were looking for her, you need to look up in the Mountains to find out where she is being crazy   First thing I want to do is an announcement for all. Make sure you don't forget to read Graeme's "The Rainy Day" short story for this month's CSR Discussion Day taking place Monday, September 28th. REMINDER: The first discussion day for our brand new GA book club, called the "Can't Stop Reading" (or CSR) Book Club, is this Monday, January 28th. Nephylim's Memories of Forgotten Love is a fantastic read that even if you haven't started yet, once you start, you'll not be able to put it down until you're done and so you'll easily be ready for Monday's discussion. Give it a try so you can join us on Monday!   For this past week, we started with a great review by Radiant Renee Stevens of No St

Not sure where in the world you are, but Winter has finally arrived here Temperatures reaching highs of -20C / -4F has kept me in a lot and doing a lot of reading instead. Enough about the weather, lets see what happened on the site this week.   Monday we had Cia introduce us to the December CSR Feature. Our Summer anthology deadline has come and passed, so looking forward to soon being able to read some good "Choices".   Our week started by Seeking Nirvana - a story by LittleBuddhaTW that was reviewed by Mark 92. Seeking Nirvana is a great story that I first read when David wrote it, but it was sooo good to take another fresh look at this gem.   We had a couple of great tips this week. As one of the possible uses for Tip Tuesday will be interviews, what better than a tip on conducting inter

Are you having a good weekend? I intend to spend mine relaxing and writing! I might even fit in an answer to one of this week's prompts! Or maybe I'll read some of this week's updates from our Hosted and Promising Authors.   Running Far Afield by Libby Drew was our featured story on Monday. This 17k short story was reviewed by Fishwings. A huge fan of hers, he had this to say: I was more than just pleasantly surprised. “Running Far Afield” proved to be one of the best stories I have come acro

So, I started a bit of a firestorm in yesterday's blog. Short story - we're looking to change the format of this GayAuthors.org News Blog from daily to four times a week. As I said yesterday, nothing is set in stone so if you haven't yet, let us know your thoughts.   Otherwise for this week, we started the week by looking at the GA story with the most number of reviews - Paternity by Hosted Author Mark Arbour. Howdy Partners Today is the last day of stampede, so I shall be putting away my Cowboy hat, boots and buckle for another year   Today I want to start the blog off by announcing the Love is Love Anthology is now been published and available for download or purchase of hard copies. Since the tragedy in Orlando, many great Authors and Poets combined together to make an Anthology to bring some hope out of the darkness and celebrate something everyone has in common, Love. I hope everyone had a great week! With the release of the 2015 Spring Anthology, it's time to start looking forward to the 2015 Poetry Anthology and the 2015 Summer Anthology. Look for the announcement for the Summer Anthology within the next week or two, but if you want to get a start on it, the theme is Road Trip! This week we're going to go a little bit backwards in our look back at the week.   For those that didn't already notice, on Friday, there were no prompts. That's because we
