Weekly Wrap Up!

Spring has sprung and it seems like everyone's mood is picking up after which has been a long hard winter for some areas in the Northern Hemisphere. Other areas in Southern Hemisphere are, I am hoping, heading into a mild winter.   One of the things about Spring is that they always seem to bring the dreaded Spring Cold. Renee is sidelined with one right now so I have stepped in to ensure she is taking her meds, hot baths, and getting as much rest as possible. Join me in wishing Renee a speedy

Weekly Wrap Up!

We had a great week and now it’s that time again to take a final look at what was included in the News Blog over the last week.   On Monday we featured a story by Hosted Author: Krista entitled “Are You Christian?”, reviewed by Zolia Lily. Hopefully it gave you a slight insight into this author's writing, and if you haven’t already, go check it out and leave Krista a review letting her know what you thought!   On Tuesday we had a very informative tip written by WatchPatRun on Online Safety.

Weekly Wrap Up!

He's baaacccckkk! Heh - this is my first Weekly Update in seven weeks, but as I mentioned in our Wednesday blog, I've been able to use this time to deal with a number of things and now that I have a handle on my offline life, I can put in a bit more time to this wonderful online community.   So - what has been happening around here? Well, as is usual for the last Monday of the month, we had the Discussion Day for our Can't Stop Reading book club, where May's reads were four Reader's Choice A

Weekly Wrap Up!

Sorry all, I'm a little behind on the wrap up for this week! It's time to look back at what happened this past week, but before we do that, a quick reminder. The 2016 Anthology Theme selection is going on now. If you have a suggestion for next years themes, please post them in the 2016 Theme Suggestion thread! However, please read the quidelines I've posted. Now, let's get on to the Wrap Up!   This past Monday started the Signature Week off with a review of Adam Phillips' story Crosscurrent

Weekly Wrap Up!

As we end yet another week, we start another month. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by! For those who haven't noticed, we added another new moderator to the Forum Moderation Team! I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome DynoReads to the FMT, we're happy to have you on board! Now, who's ready to see what happened this week in the GA News blog?   As the last Monday of the month, this week included the CSR Discussion Day. Not only were readers able to discuss this month's sele

Weekly Wrap Up Nov. 29 - Dec. 5

Yes, it is December already!  Only 19 more sleeps until 🎅 comes to see all the good boys and gurls at GA  If he is still alive   I'm going to be short and sweet, I have a killer headache and body aches. Note to anyone out there that if you have a prosthetic leg and you and not wearing said leg, and stand up and turn around to put your residual limb (stump) on your wheelchair, ensure wheelchair hasn't moved 4 feet away I saw my fall in slow motion, not as graceful as Keanu in the Matrix tho

Weekly Wrap Up Nov 4 - Nov 10

Lest we forget   In case you are wondering what this is, it is something that is done in countries around the world, but my exposure has always been in Canada. Today is November 11th and Remembrance Day. It is a day to reflect on those that have served and still serving for their countries. It doesn't matter what side they were on, they were willing to put their own lives on the line to defend what they believed in. This year also marks the 100th Anniversary of Armistice, the end of th

Weekly Wrap Up May 21 - 27

Well good day everyone With Renee still off enjoying some holidays in the mountains, being the Crazy Mountain Lady that she is, and Cia deserving at least one day of rest, I have been threatened volunteered to do the Wrap Up this week . Lots happened this week on the blog so lets summarize it all up. Another way to get the news is to sign up and have it delivered straight to your inbox with Gay Author's weekly newsletter which goes out every Sunday. psst, I'm reading Unforgivable and re

Happy Memorial Day to all our American friends!!  As Elen said, it is time to pull out your bikinis and use them as face masks   Now, I am not suggesting that you put the tops on your top and your bottoms on your face  You might get arrested and for me personally, I don't need to see that . What about your neck of the woods, is it bikini weather yet? I'd ask everyone to post pictures of themselves in their bikinis but I'm scared what I would get sent in   Shall we move on from bikinis

Weekly Wrap Up 2/27-3/3

A look back at this week on GA!   This week started off with a review of Tiff's No Fairy Tale World by yours truly! A great story, follow the link if you'd like to see the review if you missed it the first time around. You'll also find a link to the story.   We had member reviews of two stories by site authors, Cassie Q and In the mind of Sunshine. Another feature this week was a prompt 114 response story by Andy021278. This weeks prompts, 116 and 117 were both creative cues. One gives you t

The leaves are turning and falling in my neck of the woods. Have they started where you are, or are the leaves just starting to come out as you inch you way towards summer? As the weather chills, I turn to more reading as the days are getting shorter too.   We had a busy week here at GA and with Renee away, I am going to attempt to fill in for her.   Monday, we started off the week with Cia letting us know about the C S R feature for the month of September. Weekly Wrap Up (September 25 - October 1)

Wow, October 2nd already!!! Won't be long until the holidays arrive and we turn the pages to the new year.   This week we started off with C S R Discussion Day and Cia took the time to interview Puppilull and discuss her story Thaw. It is always interesting to see the responses to the hard hitting questions of Cia . The other great thing about C S R Discussion Day is that you the readers get a blog to discuss what is on your mind with the Author. We had a great discussion on Monday.   Wedne

Weekly Wrap Up (September 18 - September 24)

Well, it's the end of the week and this one was a busy one. Just a reminder that tomorrow is the CSR Discussion Day for Thaw by Puppilull. If you haven't finished it yet, but wish to take part in the discussion day, you still have time! Also, we're only about a month away from the Fall Anthology deadline (October 28th), so start polishing up those stories and get them sent in to the Anthology Proof Team. Now, let's take a look at the busy week we had in the various GA News blogs!   September's

Sorry folks, no weekly update this week. Carry on with your daily activities and God Save the Queen. Okay, so I was saying to a ex GA'er friend that I had nothing to write about to start the Weekly Wrap Up and he suggested that I couldn't do that to you all So here is a look at what happened over the past week! Monday, it was CSR discussion day where Cia chatted with @northie Then on Wednesday, it was the first one of the month and the blog was turned over to Carlos:

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept.21 - Sept.27)

Hello Folks! How are you all doing on this Sunday? I think it is Sunday everywhere but soon to be Monday in Australia and New Zealand. We do have quite a few members here that are from those two countries and I imagine others that are others just over the international date line too. So that gets me thinking  and that isn't a good thing. I remember this idea was first brought up to me in a Superman movie when I was a kid. What if you could fly faster than the speed of light, and you flew We

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept.15 - Sept 21)

So am I normal? Now before the usual peanut gallery jumps in with a resounding YES (or is that NO), let me explain. Today, for a Saturday I was bored. I played on the computer, I cleaned the condo, I took the car for a wash, and still was bored. So I flicked on the TV and started going through the hundreds of channels and nothing really appealed to me. Next I turned on Prime Video, nope, nothing caught my fancy. Then it was over to Netflix. Well they are featuring a movie that I have

So I was thinking this week . Does that make everyone cringe? Today when I wrote this up. it is the 14th, so just a reminder to you all that we are now 10 days from my birthday and tomorrow will be 3 months away from Christmas. Now I don't want all of you all to fret and worry over having to get me pressies for both celebrations in the next 3 months! I know you all were planning on spending at least $50 Canadian ($12.50 US) on each present, so why don't you combine the two and each of y

What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song I will try not to sing out of key Oh, baby I get by (Ah, with a little help from my friends) All I need is my buddies (Ah, with a little help from my friends) I say I'm gonna get high (Ah, with a little help from my friends) Oh yeah (Ooh) Joe Cocker ©   Okay, since everyone knows I sing out of tune and key, I imagine I have cleared the room  Nothi

I'm giddy   My football team has been having a really, really bad year this year. If you are thinking of the CFL, then you got the right league. If you don't know what the CFL is, then there is no hope for you as a true football fan  But, I imagine the majority of you are saying something like why the hell does he talk about sports here! Not a question, but a statement . So they kind of lost on Labour Day against their arch rivals and the rematch was tonight. Needless to say the won, bringi

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 4 - Sept. 10)

Well, well, well. Shall we wrap this week up like a pig in a blanket . So question for all of you, have you partaken in any of the great first releases of the GA 20th Anniversary Anthology?  How many have you read, 1, 2, or all of them? What do you think so far?  I've personally had a busy week, as on Thursday night I was going to get into bed with my iPad and start reading. Much to my surprise out my condo's bedroom window 😮 Okay Steve, that is an excuse for Thursday night.

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 27 - Oct. 3)

So goodbye to September and onto October. Can you believe that Canadian Thanksgiving is a week from Monday See, we have our harvest done before a lot of our southern neighbours. The holiday is about the same, rooted in early settlers giving thanks to not only the Native Americans they encountered at the beginning, but everything that happened in the previous year. Hopefully topped off with a bountiful harvest to carry through the winter. We have turkey, tons of veggies, mashed potatoes, gravy,

Well a big hug and thank you to Cia last week for doing the wrap up Before I forget, you have just under a month now to get your Anthologies in!!  Last week I was personally out of town, sitting lakeside in a cabin, in the mountains, hiding out on my birthday  Needless to say I never got any of your pressies for that day from all of you . I'm just blaming it on the mailman and have moved on   So is everybody getting ready for Thanksgiving?  Oh wait, the 'mericans in the room have

Well it has happened  October has darkened our doors  This means the seasons are a changing. Have you got any frost on your pumpkin, or any other parts yet  ?  It is also sad in the sense that this week concluded week 4 of the Anthology - Anniversary. Please, if you haven't had a chance yet, make sure you thank your Authors, Poets and Editors and Beta's for making this one of the best, not only in participation, but in content on the sites 20 year history. No matter where in the world you are, you have 22 hours to get your Anthology in  Actually if you are in Auckland New Zealand, you come out with extra time. As of publishing this blog, you are at 7:40 PM Sunday. So if you are thinking you only have 3 hours to go, no, you have 22 more hours 😮. It's not me, I'm in disguise! 🥸 🤡 😜 In the absence of your usual wrapper, you get me... sorry, I'm simply not nearly as entertaining. Well, unless you watch me stumble around the classroom trying to to kill myself on all the student's things strewn about. That's hilarious. 😒 Last weekend Wildone said he was older than dirt and this week I'm a clown in disguise. I certainly entertain the students enough. Fortunately, we have one more day of weekend to enjoy. Why don't we take a look at what was s
