Reasons

Well, I finally pounded out a new chapter of If By Chance. Hopefully, if I get it back soon enough, I can send it in and have it posted by this weekend. I really apologize to my readers for the delay, but I

Across the field, through the tunnel, and over the fence.

So a couple of days ago the craziest thing happened! I was minding my own business at work and it was time to go to lunch. So I walked out, and realized that I'd gone out the wrong door and that my truck was on the other side of campus (I'm a sub. teacher for those who don't know). SO, I thought, "it's a nice day, no point in turning around, I'll just cut across this field." So I cut across this GIANT field only to find that there was in fact no easy way to get back to my truck and that I ha

Changes are afoot

I haven't written anything in a week.   No big deal, so far.   But, I have been busy. Maybe too busy.   We (my, the wife, Bonita, and our son) are leaving Friday morning for Salt Lake City. I got the call this morning that I'm on for orientation at the trucking company I worked for first. I'll be there until Wednesday afternoon when I get a truck. Then it's boogie, boogie, boogie on down the road.   It'll take a while to get up to speed, but I think I'll be smokin' on all cylinders by th

Things To Know When Going To Hawaii!

You Know You're From Hawaii When...   You can understand and speak PIDGIN english.   You go to dinner and "make one plate" with all the extra food leftover.   You automatically take off your shoes in people's homes.   You wear rubber slippers to the beach.   You eat rice every single day.   It's "shave ice" not"snow cones".   When you know NEVER to turn your back facing the ocean.   You know what ukus are and have had them at least once before when you was one little keiki.   Y

Chill out! I want to stand out in a crowd!

I'm sure we all know people who get offended at the drop of a hat, right? Well, this is one of my pet peeves. I mean what the hell is wrong with people? So somebody teased you with a joke. Who cares? Just let it go already. There are plenty of things in this world to be mad about like the seeming lack of wonderful presidential candidates this year. I know which one I want to vote for, but I'm still not overly thrilled with him.   Now everyone seems to be copying Viv's latest blog and taking t

I stole it too! (another survey thingy)

Could you forgive your best friend for sleeping with your partner? I would definitely want, and expect, to forgive them at some point, but in all likelihood both relationships would be over. How old will you be on your next birthday? I hate this question   I shall be 24; now leave me alone about my age!   Have you ever seen a live bat? Yuppers, there's a 'bat colony' in Houston, and I'd seen them before then. They're cute little things!   Is there anything/anyone you hate? ...I hat

If you really oppose the war in Iraq

I've found that over the last couple of years, my view on the war in Iraq has evolved. Most of it has to do with my growing knowledge about the constitution, the most important and the most at risk document in our nation. I understand that times have changed since the framers signed their names to the constitution, but I truly believe that if we did as the they had intended instead of what the politicians in Washington, we'd be in a much stronger position as a nation. Before I go any further, l

Silliness I stole from Lisa <3

Could you forgive your best friend for sleeping with your partner? I don't think Rich swings that way...   How old will you be on your next birthday? 29 plus 2... check out my math skills baby!   Have you ever seen a live bat? I'm sure I have in some zoo or another.   Is there anything/anyone you hate? It's hard for me to hate anyone, but lemme tell ya, there are plenty of things I hate.   Are you single? Nope   Do you like the color orange? On an orange, sure, and on my son... h

bad words

Often lately I have been asking myself, 'What drives people to make the decisions they do?'   There are things I just don't understand, and in many ways i really don't want to understand. Why does one person find it necessary to talk badly about another? Why would they misrepresent facts, even if they did so mistakingly? I don't understand these concepts. Granted I'm no angel, I'll be the first to freely admit that. However, I subscribe to that whole blasie 'live and let live' mumbo jumbo. You

Two Years Since Dad Died

It was exactly two years ago today when my adoptive father died. He had had a stroke in in his brainstem in July of 2004. He died on April 24, 2006, exactly two years ago. It does not seem that long ago either. In some ways, I still feel like I'm missing a father figure, but life goes on. There was actually a time when I would have sought an older man in a context of a loving relationship to fill the gap. It took me a while to realize it, but that would not have been a good idea. What I had to d

Out

I finally got Chapter 1 of The Artists pushed out the door so all of you wonderful, beautiful, astute readers can enjoy the first installment of what I hope will be a long project. It certainly has the seeds for it: two young, impressionable, and in some ways intriguing boys; a house full of interesting and artistic people; interpersonal conflicts; a touch of psychological unbalance, just a touch, nothing certifiably crazy this time; straights, gays, and inbetweens; and four years of college ahe

PSY 110 Paper

So I have to write 10 pages worth of a paper for psychology. So far I have almost eight, and I'm splitting it into two papers (that's allowed so long as there's ten pages of text total). This one is a self-diagnosis, which I think is probably the last thing he wants to read, lol. I'm wondering if it's just too much to turn in... diagnosing myself with borderline personality disorder may be a bit weird of a read, but the paper is really vague, it's just supposed to be on how psychology applies

And my week has just gone to shit!

Mostly. I have tried hard to get ahold of Jason, but I've given up on doing so. I'm not going into details.   I am now a hosted author on Authors Keep and is quite happy. I have my own forum there and will be fixing my sig to show that. I'm quite happy about that considering I'm the first female on it. BK is there, which is good.   I am also apart of another forum, but due to some major reasons, I can't post the link here. I'm aslo participating in their anthology.

Happy Earth Day/Birthday(s) and thank you

Well, so a very Happy Birthday to Vance today!   And another just as Happy Birthday to Toby... where he lives it's already his birthday, even if it's not quite yet here...   *** Warning - Semi-computer challenged individual speaking beyond this point***   So, last night I installed some new Windows Live software thingy that allowed me to import all my MSN contacts to my email list along with combining all my email accounts into the one Outlook Express thing I use and it seems pretty cool

"Oh wait, I do"

So I was hanging out with Scott, Luke, and John last night and eventually John went home and Luke went to bed and Scott and I kept talking for awhile longer. Eventually, I decided to go home...and then realized I couldn't find my keys. I have a chronic problem keeping track of my things, particularly my keys, so it was nothing new, but certainly frustrating. On the bright side John has developed this amazing gift for finding things for me! Prior to last night the last several times I've lost

I'm tired

Today I finished up a rather big project that I've been working on.   In the front of the house are two Azalea beds that have been there since the sixties. The Bushes are large but scraggly and unhealthy because the soil under them is worn out.   My job: dig up the bushes, replant them. Dig up the old beds and clean out the roots. Remove some of the dirt. Test the soil and figure out what it needs. Add: sand, top soil, peat moss, humas, etc. Till it up. Put the plastic border down. Smooth

A step in the right direction

A week ago I sent in my resume to the company I retired from back in '04, at the height of my insanity. They're looking for residential credit consultants and I figured I could get hired since I've done that job. It's not a fun job. It's not a job that has a lot of good feelings about it. The last time I did it, I quit after five months because it was such a crappy job, but there were "political" reasons, too.   Basically, you call, or receive calls from, customers who haven't paid their phone

A Risky Move

I just finished my cultural diversity final project. The subject was "Race and Your Community". I did talk about racial issues in this town and rural communities in general, but how can I talk about minorities and fail to mention my own minority group? Here is the text in my final project. Here is a sample:

It's a sunny day!

The weather forecast is for mostly sunny skies with temperatures climbing up into the lower to mid 70s. A good day to mow the lawn. It needs it because it's been 3 weeks since the first time this spring. I was also seriously considering doing some major pruning on a few camelias that have pretty much finished blooming.   There's nothing like a day out in the sun working in the yard, using the power mower (Is it only me or do you too see the conundrum in those two similarly spelled, but dissimi

Tired

I'm just tired of everything at this point.   Friends, Family, school. How come nobody ever tells you that sometimes rage can feel good?   I'm ready to go. I've been thinking of moving away from everyone i know and then remember I have no money.   so instead I lock myself away and visit that place in my mind(o_O)   no I just imagine sweet freedom and a noticeable lack of people i know so thoroughly.     I just need to distance myself for while.   I'll come back to this later. a
