    Upcoming Events Reminder

    By Valkyrie

First, I'd like to wish all our American members a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I will be spending the day at my aunt's, stuffing my face with turkey and all the sides   I'd be perfectly happy with a plate full of stuffing and gravy, though.  🤤 I am thankful for everyone who makes this site as awesome as it is!  I'm also thankful for everyone who participates in site events, such as the anthologies and other contests run throughout the year.     Speaking of site events, we have two

Flight to Syracuse, Chapter 2

I finished Chapter 2 of Flight to Syracuse and got it posted to eFiction this morning. The boys are on their way, but have a slight detour to get away from one of David's brothers.   I was thinking about the old TV series, Route 66, the other day and how Flight to Syracuse might end up being something along those lines. Well, when you consider half of the cast of Route 66 was gay, even though that did not come out (silly pun) in the storyline, it might work with my story. Well, my boys don't h

Diabetes

Being a diabetic can be fun. I was diagnosed as a type 2 a few years ago. I had one of my normal checkups today. It seems I'm moving towards becoming a type 1. It would seems that the oral meds I take aren't doing the job they should be. Besides the oral meds I take, I've also been taking a couple of different injections, mainly at night.   As far as my daily activities. There are days I spend most of my time in my office working instead of on the production floor with my staff. I also try to

it's 2:42 am...

... do you know where your husband is? Or better yet, do you know where mine is?   So my Sweetie is in bed sleeping again, and my Luvuh just bailed on me for warmer, cushier places that provide rest, and my Angel has long since been snoozing and here I am up and all alone... *sigh*   I have the next two days off and I'm not working superbowl so that's awesome!   I got a letter from Tobi today I miss him, but he seems like he's doing really well and gonna be done soon and missing us li

It's not you; it's me

So I've been thinking a lot about the qualities and characteristics I require in someone before I have a serious relationship with them and I've come to an unfortunate conclusion...I'm impossibly picky. I mean basically my criteria are such that they have to be impossibly gorgeous, brilliant, witty, and morally virtuous. All without being vain, condescending, mean, or holier-than-thou. They also need to be suitably unconventional, easy going and all around non-stodgy, and WANT me without N

Four more weeks

I went to an orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday and he said to come back in four weeks, not to do any exercises or physical exertion, and definitely don't go to work. Four more weeks of doing what I've been doing for the last four weeks, except not going to physical therapy. Rest my wrist for four weeks. If it's not better, then he'll do an MRI and see if there's a tear that needs to be repaired.   The long and short of it is that I'm very depressed, so depressed I'm actually trying to remember to

Syllables...more exciting than you think

You know, it pays to have kids sometimes. Somehow I went all the way through school and out into the word without really knowing how to divide a word into syllables. Now

Finally! A Fairy Tale!

Well, I did actually manage to write something for the Fairy Tale Anthology. I had given up completely last week--after trying for MONTHS to come up with something. I had lots of ideas that seemed good initially, but when I tried to actually write them I couldn't get anything to work. So I gave up. Decided to just throw in the towel and not worry about it.   Yeah...right. Don't even ask me how many assignments I didn't complete when I was in school. I was one of those hopelessly geeky

Impossible? Maybe, maybe not

Ok, so I know I haven't been very active lately, but that's because I've been working on a few writing projects and doing some planning for the next couple of years. Yes, I said years. I have a goal in mind, and I need to give myself a lot of time to achieve it.   Reader: So, Nick, what kind of goal takes two years? Me: Becoming a published author Reader: (Snickers)But Nick, you can't even get yourself Hosted at Gay Authors....how the hell are you going to be published at all, let alone in t

Surprised...

So the week has been pleasantly surprising. OK so it all really started on a Wednesday about two weeks prior. I was doing one of my usually evening IM sessions with Viv and she mentioned that she was going to Disneyland on Sunday and asking if I was gonna go. I was like damn that is just bad timing all around. I had family arriving back from a cruise that day and got christened the chauffeur that was to usher them home from the LA pier.   So I had to decline the invite to meet her in a fairl

Howard Stern's shocking past

Ok, so maybe not. I went onto You Tube looking for some west coast rap about a week ago and came across something I never new existed....West Coast Soft Rock. Don't ask me...anyway, I found this old clip of what looks appears to be Howard Stern singing the song people always here at the grocery store or in an elevator.

I passed, I passed!

Well, I didn't flunk out of law school. I just got my last grade today, even though my exams ended Dec. 22. I've been such a stress case (well okay, even more than usual) for an entire month. My grades seem horrible to me, but there's this dumbass curve and I think the average for a class isn't allowed to be above like 2.6, so I suppose it's all sort of relative. At any rate, I'm just glad I'm still here.   Also, it's 12 degrees here. Twelve. Two days ago I had my window open.

Nothing to say....*shrug*

So depending on how long you've been here, you may have noticed ive not bogged in a while.       To be honest I've had anything to blog about. Now believe it or not that's something I'm very grateful for. If you know the history of this blog then you'll know the last year and a half has been filled with enough drama to last my life time. I never thought for a second when I sent that first PM to Myr, pouting over how Ben (Boyneedstherapy) could have a blog and I couldn't that the

From the Dark Side . . . Wasted

Early this week, probably Tuesday night, I was watching an episode of CSI: Miami when I experienced something I haven't experienced in quite a while because I don't watch television when I'm on the road. Oh, I catch a program or two in trucks stops, but I don't have a television in my truck so whatever entertainment I utilize comes via the internet or what I have saved on the laptop. Anyway, this particular episode triggered a shot of adrenalin quickening by pulse, changing my breath rate, and t

Rich agreed I was being paranoid... whatever.   So my friend from work 'S' got back from his trip to China that was a birthday present from a friend of his... Mmmhmm, I met him too~ We cruised, we talked, we texted covert style, it was fun! He wore his Nittany Lions cap... I wore my Volcom hat... I think I'm not supposed to mention his large amount of random blushing for no real reason... so I better not talk about that. Hmm, what else? I guess we should ask him... but I had fun He brought his sisters along to meet my crazy family so then there were eight of us.   What can I say about him? "For one more day"

If you haven't read the book for one more day by Mitch Albom (author of Tuesdays with Morrie), then I do suggest it to everyone. I'll be the first to admit that I never read books like this, but my mom sent it to me and asked me to read it. I think it's the first time I've gotten this emotional over something I've read.   If you have read it and enjoyed it, then good. If you didn't enjoy it, then please keep it to yourself.     Joe
