I don't know if I've shared this song on here or not. I'm a fan of the anime series Gintama, and this song is the 13th opening of the long-running series based on the manga by Hideaki Sorachi.

I just love Japanese rock/pop. I have ever since YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra). Ryuichi Sakamoto is one of my very favorite composers of all time. His latest work was the theme to The Revenant!

It's not exactly a music clip per se, but it's so awesome it's definitely worth watching.

 

The guy puts a camera in his guitar, facing the cords and the sky, and plays for a bit. Mesmerizing!

Papa Roach is one of my favorite bands. You can tell from the lyrics he writes, Jacoby Shaddox has experienced a great deal of pain in his life. This song is about internal struggles and how they can affect a romance. The lyrics are quite haunting. I think a lot of people have gone through this sort of thing, dealing with their own demons and pushing people away.

Not sure why I am feeling these three songs this week....but when it comes on internally I bean / bounce in my step / shake my hips when no one is looking...

My favorite artist of all time is Janis Joplin... God rest her tortured soul. I still miss her terribly.

Me and Bobby Mcgee is my favorite song of hers... written by Kris Kristofferson. Pink did a version that feels to me like a tribute to Janis... maybe the best cover anyone has ever done of a song made immortal by Ms. Joplin...

I was thinking about, The Eminent MGK and his pending name change. This song popped into my head and made me smile. So Emi, this one is just for you and hopefully makes you smile just a little bit.
