LOL, but I was listening to this instead when Blasphemous Rumors was just coming out:

It was about as deep as I could go at 14 :P

I've loved this song for a while and just got around to the video.... oh all the man candy :heart:

and then this re-do of an older song.... that I caught during my free period of satellite radio. Not as great as the original but still good.

Song of the moment..."Sam Stone." Written and originally performed by John Prine, but Swamp Dogg's version makes me a tad misty eyed. This song is in remembrance to those who returned from "the conflict overseas." There was no need for John Prine to include what war Sam Stone served in, because the song says it all. I know some people will see this as just another good ole' boy shit kicker song, but if you listen to the lyrics, you'll find the poetry in it. Such a sad song, but beautiful at the same time.  :(

Love this song, too!!

What I've been listening to, lately... love how un-studioish it is...

I'm not familiar with this band, but I'm going to get acquainted with them.  ;) No need for bells and whistles, just a group of guys jamming together. Love it.

Heard this song on the way to work in my rotation.  I'm planning on making some considerable changes to my life and these lyrics stuck out in particular:

Am I wrong
For thinking out the box from where I stay?
Am I wrong
For saying that I choose another way?
I ain't trying to do what everybody else doin'
Just 'cause everybody doin' what they all do
If one thing I know, I'll fall but I'll grow
I'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home

...

Am I tripping
For having a vision?
My prediction
I'ma be on the top of the world
Walk your walk and don't look back,
Always do what you decide
Don't let them control your life, that's just how I feel oh whoa
Fight for yours and don't let go,
Don't let them compare you, no
Don't worry, you're not alone, that's just how we feel

I cannot get this song out of my head

This song, to me, is one of the greatest unrequited love songs ever written.  I can't watch the video without bursting into tears.  The scene where the old man kisses his wife in the hospital bed reminds me of my grandma kissing my grandfather at his funeral before they closed the casket.

Out of likes, but I've always loved this song... today, for the first time, it made me cry... thanks, A.J.
