Xtro Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) E. B. White - also wrote Stuart Little. Edited October 2, 2012 by Xtro
Andy78 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Yes, one of my favourite books from childhood. I always get teary-eyed at the end. I'd say this one goes to WhitePhoenix. Your turn.
WhitePhoenix Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 'He sat in front of a wall of glass at a desk so massive and white it resembled an ice floe.'
Xtro Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Read that and suddenly thought Minority Report by P.K. Dick (from 1956 as a short story - but you're waaaaaay too young to be referring to that )
Xtro Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I keep getting Science Fiction - Fifth Element? Or an Alan Dean Foster?
Andy78 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I officially have no idea **sits in its corner and cries **
Zombie Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 *pokes the snivelling sheep with a sharp pointy stick for being such a big cry baby* 2
Andy78 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 The sheep bites off the zombie's hand, stomps on its head, rips out its brain and offers it to Dr Lecter with some fava beans and bottle of chianti. **Returns to its corner, now feeling better** 2
podga Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 **Prostrates self at WhitePhoenix's feet and, after congratulating her for having stumped The Sheep that Has Read Everything, begs for a clue.** 1
Xtro Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 In that case, it's something by James Patterson - he writes everything!
Andy78 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Ooh, ooh, ooh. Is it Twilight by Stephanie Something
WhitePhoenix Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 you're getting closer Xtro but you're not there yet
podga Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Soooo. Somebody who writes everything? As in across genres? Iain Banks? Nora Roberts? Stephen King? Roald Dahl? **grasping desperately at straws**
Slytherin Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 hmmm I know Nora Roberts writes under different pseudonyms.. But I have no idea
Xtro Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Hmmm(2) - the only thing I know about Nora Roberts is that she's been knocking novels out at a rate of one a month for some time now - Mills & Boone style (I've been a long time subscriber to Writers' News magazine) Okay, Phoenix, bird of all knowledge, is this an original work, or is it a film adaptation? It could easily be a line from The Big Sleep - in style - but you say it's SFnal?
Xtro Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 blood and stone spring to mind Hmmmm not blood and brains? Aha! You're not Le Zombie! Whoever you are, whatever you've done with him, you can keep him!
