Okay anybody who wants to make a snarky comment about her do it during the game I wish I could watch FSU today.. their opener is against Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland. They brought 170 members of the band. But it's only on ESPN and we don't have cable, nor do we subscribe to their streaming service. GO NOLES! 2 3

Seeing all the casts they had of people and animals who were killed in the eruption was so sad. There was a sort of dignity and grace to the exhibit, though, which was good. We watched a couple of docs about the archeologists there. There's a lot of respect when they find people and animals as there should be. The buildings and walls are beautifully painted. 5

I always wondered why they called it football here. They don't use their feet other than to run. The rest of the world got it right. I wonder how we got the name soccer? Weird. Some in really bad shape and some very much intact. It was something to imagine the people who would have been looking at those walls so long ago that I could see nearly 2000 years later. 2 3

Mikiesboy Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 Happy Tuesday. Watch out for wasps, grown up and leaving their nests searching for sweet foods. It seems they are hungry. I noticed many of them when we went for a walk yesterday. We bring you the words of Dr. Suess. I don't care if he's been cancelled or banned or whatever. Have a good one! 5

Which kind of WASP are you speaking of? The insect or the human kind. What you said about them leaving the nest could apply to either of them 2 1

The wasps, hornets, and yellow-jackets are all out now, and beware while grilling, eating outside, or leaving a sweet drink (especially cans) unattended. They are out in force now and are an aggressive nuisance. As a side note, this is our third day in a row of above 90 degrees with high humidity, and very high pollen count, with at least 3 or four more days to follow. UGH...... 🥵 ☹️ 6 2

UGH...... 🥵 ☹️ When camping/picnicking we leave a sacrifice for the yellow jackets and other wasps. Put a bit of meat and a capful of soda or juicy fruit about a dozen feet away from the gathering, and they will happily take the offering and leave us alone. Yeah, you gotta wave them off till they find the offering, but once they do you're set. They won't bother you again. 1 6 1

Popular Post chris191070 Posted August 28 Popular Post Posted August 28 Happy Wednesday. Hope everyone is well. I've had a fun week so far. Dentist yesterday for 2 Fillings (not cheap). Then the opticians as I'd been getting headaches, new contact lenses prescription and new glasses (not cheap). And just for fun I've got a phone call from my Dr tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately my 6 week holiday is over and I'm back in work tomorrow. So back to getting up at 5am. Take care all and have a good day. 1 4 1

Popular Post Gary L Posted August 29 Popular Post Posted August 29 Last days in Aragón visiting the amazing Sierra de Guara and its “canyons”. Not USA dimensions but truly beautiful. Have a look on Google. Back to the horrors of Valencia on Sat and then Monday I’m off to find a trainer for the most disobedient weinerdog in history. Greta is so naughty and loving a holiday home with an open garden. Back in the apartment all that will be history. I have a week to train her before the other weinerdog, Lilibeth, will be arriving.
