Ho ho ho to everyone!

Been a bit busy here over the last two weeks. Did a weekend no electronics allowed weekend with 3 other gay couples this past weekend. They relieved us of our phones as we arrived and then accepted all the other usual devices like pads, laptops, etc. The first night I thought I was going to go crazy, after that it was easy. We drank a lot of wine, had conversations with the other couples.

Played Risk, Clue, Life and Monopoly and did jigsaw puzzles.

By the last day I was almost ready to leave the phone behind but once it touched my hand it's like it had tentacles that reached deep inside me and I was connected before I even turned it on.

Because of the new Omicron variant rampaging through the area I'm swearing off the poker playing at the casino until after Jan 1. Probably longer than that.

We've also changed our holiday dinner plans to include just the family. Justin's parents, grandparents and my sister will be the only guests besides Justin and me.

It's been a long week.  Stressing over the holidays - this will be the first Christmas (that we've done or normal xmas things) w/o mom and dad. Brother and SIL are coming up here.

I’m glad you will have family with you this year, Fae.
 

Holidays should be fun and carefree. With with all the prep and whatnot before, during, and after, being stress free isn’t very common, I don’t think.

I took a "use it or lose it" sick day today, ran errands, went to the gym to be told by my trainer "You're gonna sweat today." (More like swear). This was after a half hour on the elliptical going all out cuz I was running a few minutes late. 

Ran around with hubby doing errands and then while he napped, I cleaned. I kept cleaning. He woke up, ate, then started reading a book. 🤨 I started stressing because I wasn't even halfway done after four hours nonstop. Company will be here in less than 48 hours. He finally got the hint and helped out. Another hour and I totally ran out of steam. 

Plus my brother asked me to take my mom Christmas eve, which I normally wouldn't mind, but now I have two guests and 1 guest room. All because they do Xmas eve with her backwards, redneck, Florida cracker family and the utter chaos is way too much for my mom to handle. 🙄 

It'll work out.

Only for us Americans. If I showed this to my son in Amsterdam he would be very puzzled since the way they write the date is 22/12/21.

For all you writers on here. How do you handle it when nothing comes?

I've been wanting to write something for awhile now. When I sit down to the computer and start to type it all comes out as wham bam porn stories. They seem to get good reviews when posted (obviously not on here) but still I wasn't really thinking about writing porn when I started.

My usual way of writing is to just start to type and read along as it comes out. I truly have no idea what's going to happen until I read it myself. That's only for things that aren't biographical in some form. Perhaps not 100% factual but at least some basis in truth. Even with those beginnings once it veers off into it's own territory I'm back to seeing it for the first time as it appears in type.

Do you create an outline first? Or just how does it all come out?

we all have our own way... some need detailed outlines ... some need a general path/timeline .. if i write an outline, that's the story told and i dont want to write it anymore, so i do not write outlines. I make notes sometimes but mostly i just write the story. i dont see the whole thing before i write ... i just write and i can usually see the end when i'm nearly done.  you need to try things and find what works for you

In my case, something.trips my writing trigger, then the damned idea pesters me till I write it down.

I keep a notebook page on my phone that has random thoughts, ideas, quips, names and other mental ramblings. When I'm stuck, I'll take a look and see if any of those weird ideas turn into something.
