Oh there's been a couple of those for me.  There was one story I was reading, by an author that I absolutely adore, and while I enjoyed the story immensely, and thought it was very well done, the main character bugged me.  I said as much, I think I called him a flaky douche in my comments.  The writer in question was, I think, a bit taken aback by my comments.  

 

I'm trying to think @CassieQ, I haven't read any of your recent stuff so you may have dodged the bullet on my ranting.  I know I read several of your stories when I was new on the site, but I think they were a couple of years old at that point, and my first year I tended to think anything over a year old, comments were probably ignored by the author.  Not always true, but that was my impression back then.  

 

I think some of your newer posts are going to end up on my "to be read" list.

I had the opposite happen to me once, back on AFF.net.  One of the readers told me that the villain of the story was very confident and sexy.  And I was sitting there like

Randy, I know I've looked at a couple of your stories and been like, oh that might be too hardcore for Spikey.  It's crazy, sometimes I can read very real stories that feature abuse and though it disturbs me, I can power through it and get to the good stuff.  But a lot of the time, I get scared off by the warnings.

Same.    It's weird, sometimes I'll read something rough and be okay with it, but then I try to read something else and I'm like "Nope, can't handle it".  I think it might be the level of detail.

It is weird, and looking back I made it through two Parker Owens stories that were so freaking dark at the beginning.  I even beta read the first half of the second story I'm talking about here. I'm about 99% sure that if I hadn't already established a relationship with Parker through continued interaction here on the site while he posted his first major story here, I never would have given that story a chance.  And it was so good.  There's a lesson in here somewhere I think...

Both of you stay away from my stuff then... or at least take the warnings seriously. Sometimes ADMIN makes me put on EXTRA warnings... LOL.

I love your comments, spikey! And I love how involved you get... and you make me laugh sometimes with your wit and sarcasm.   I always look forward to hearing what you think, even when a character is driving you crazy.

Lugh this is like a challenge.  I feel like I'm at a chili cookoff, and I found the guys from Southwest Texas with the Extra Spicy Habanero Cayenne Ghost Pepper Nuclear Fallout In a Pot Chili.
